Hey everybody, Gaelcon is on this weekend (23rd-25th) in the gresham hotel on o'connells st. For those of you who dont know what it is or have never been gaelcon is the biggest gaming convention in ireland. There will be all manner of games going on, rpgs, larps, ccgs, wargames and several special events so whatever youre into there will be something there to cater for you. For more information check out the website: http://www.gaelcon.com/gaelcon2004/ . Entry is 25 but stocs have received funding for 15 regular members (sorry, no associates) to go to the con. These places will be desided on a first come first served basis. If you want to go just email me your name and student number and i'll put you on the list. Arrangments for meeting up will be places on the forum http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~stocs/forum I would also like to remind everybody of the general meeting on wednesday. It will take place in cg20 at 6.30 and there are two things on the agenda. 1) election of new trips & events officer 2) election of sillicon committee I hope you will all attend so that you can have your say in how the society is run. The regular stocs meeting will continue afterwards. For those who play wargames, stocs are now creating a new weekly session for you to play at. Every thursday at 6.30 in cg06 we will have games of Warhammer, 40K, VOID, etc going. If you have never played a wargame we will be happy to show you through an few introductry games. Associate membership is open to any former student of dcu or any member of staff. Up until recently there has been a lot of confusion as to how to pay the associate membership and how much it was. According to spc regualtions the mininum associates fee is €10. At the last committee meeting this amount was deemed to be enough and so associate membership has been set at €10. This amount can be givin to any committee member along with your name and email address at any stocs meeting or at an arranged time. Thats it for now, thanks for reading.
