Hello all, Just to let you know that there's a LARP running next week on friday (7pm) in the seminar room. It's being written and run by the lovely Mark in all his impish glory and the money raised is going (indirectly - hey look over there!) to the Dublin Simon Community. So it helps poor people but it also gets rid of Mark for a month or two, so I'm sure you'll all give generously in the spirit of sending Mark to his death in a nasty fall from a Peruvian mountain side while trying to rescue some stranded racoons... Anyway, on to Mark: Hi, I'm Mark Dunne, who some of you know, and some of you don't. On March 5th, at 19:00, I'll be running a LARP in order to raise money for the Simon Community, in the form of sponsorship for trekking in Peru this May. The LARP will take place in the Hub in DCU, courtesy of DCU STOCS. Participants are asked to sponsor generously. Please e-mail me at pixies@redbrick.dcu.ie to book a place. A blurb: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 2096. Technological progress surges ahead without consideration for where it will lead. Chief among the accomplishments of this progress is the completion of Earth's first space elevator, a cable soaring from the Pacific Ocean to orbit. In a world of terrorism, corruption and dirty politics, such accomplishments are welcome, illuminating the true spirit of man. You are one of the lucky few on the maiden voyage. So far, the journey has progressed without incident. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Even if you can't attend, feel free to sponsor me; the Simon Community is a very worthwhile cause. More details about the Trek can be found at http://www.pixiesversusnazis.org. Thanks, Mark.
