1. Monthly Astronomy Ireland
TV Spot
Astronomy Ireland are delighted to
announce that A.I. Chairman, David Moore, will feature on City
Channels 'The Evening Show' in a monthly slot dedicated to all things
astronomy. The Astronomy Ireland TV show
will be aired each month at 7:00pm and 9:00pm with repeats throughout the
week. City Channel is available to all
Chorus/NTL customers and is broadcast throughout Dublin, Galway and Waterford
and all of Munster, reaching 400,000 homes.
The first show will be
aired this Monday, October 19, at 7:00pm and again at
9:00pm.
You can watch David's
appearance on City Channel last month and his appearance on RTE's flagship
daytime television programme 'The Afternoon Show' on September 14 and 29 at
www.astronomy.ie/TV.
2. Armagh Planetarium Day
Trip
Astronomy Ireland's annual trip to
the Armagh Planetarium will take
place on Saturday, November 7. This annual trip is always a highlight
in the Astronomy Ireland calendar and this year promises to be no
exception. Join us to experience a breathtaking show in the Star Theatre, stroll
around the Astropark and the Human Orrery and take a tour of the
Observatory. You can also visit the many exhibition areas and gallery in
the Planetarium along with other features. Tickets cost 45euro (40euro
excluding the observatory tour) and buses will leave from the A.I. Office in
Artane at 9:00am sharp, returning at approximately 6:00pm. If you plan on making

rates.
3. Moon Close To Three Morning
Planets
On Friday, October 16, at
7:00am there will be a spectacular sight as Saturn, Venus and Mercury
will all be placed close to the crescent Moon. This promises to be one of the
highlights of sky events this month, and for more
information refer to the diagram on Page 23 of the October issue of
