Tonight
To celebrate Galilean Nights, a Cornerstone
IYA event taking place from October 22 - 24, Astronomy Ireland have several
telescope events happening throughout the country.
TRALEE AND SLIGO
To mark the launch of our Evening
Classes in Tralee and Sligo, there will be telescope watches in both locations
tonight, October 22, at 7:30pm. All those enrolled in the classes and
members of the general public are invited to attend and see Jupiter through
a telescope as Galileo did 400 years ago. For more information click HERE.

DUBLIN
There will be watches in Dublin both
this evening, October 22, and tomorrow evening, October 23, at the Astronomy
Ireland head office in Butterly Business Park, Artane, Dublin 5 (see www.astronomy.ie/map for directions).
Come along to these events to look at Jupiter through a powerful telescope, see
telescope demonstrations, and to browse the Astronomy and Space shop which will

WATCHES
We are encouraging all of you to take
part in Galilean Nights by holding your own Doorstep Watch for family, friends
and neighbours in your local area. We are providing anyone who is interested
with a downloadable information pack and for more information or to request

2. Two Radio
Shows
Astronomy Ireland Chairman, David Moore, spoke to Mike Moloney (formerly of
2FM) on Real Radio about Galilean Nights in Dublin, Sligo and Tralee.

3. Astronomy Ireland TV
Show
The first installment of
the Astronomy Ireland TV Show - a monthly slot dedicated to all
things astronomy - featured on City Channel's 'The Evening Show' last
Monday, October 19. City Channel is available to all Chorus/NTL
customers in Dublin, Galway and Waterford and all of Munster and the show
is repeated all throughout this week at various times. If you missed it or do not have City Channel you can
