Lecture: “The Universe Explained”
As a highlight of Science Week 2010, Ireland's
best-known astronomer, David Moore, will take you on a
whistlestop tour of the Universe in his amazing talk on
"The Universe” on Thursday night, November 11th, at 8pm, in the
Fitzgerald Building in Trinity College Dublin. You will get to learn about
everything they ever wanted to know about the Universe, but were afraid to ask!

The talk is suitable for the general public, no matter what age or
experience of astronomy. Tickets cost 7euro (5euro member’s rate) and can
be booked online at www.astronomy.ie
If you are located outside Dublin, or can’t make it on the
night, the talk will be available on DVD for everyone in Ireland. Order your

The theme of this year's Science Week is Our Place In Space, and it

Nationwide
Jupiter Watches
Astronomy Ireland will be hosting a number of Nationwide Jupiter Watches as part of our Science Week
celebrations. The main target will be the planet Jupiter which is an amazing
sight in a good quality telescope. Ideal for beginners (experts welcome too!). We encourage everyone to come along with friends and
family to these free events and see Jupiter through some of Ireland's most
powerful telescopes.
There
will be Watches Tonight, Wednesday, November 10 in Dublin (6pm-7pm)
and Letterkenny
(8pm-9pm)
There
will be Watches Thursday, November 11 in Dublin (6pm-7pm)
There
will be Watches Friday, November 12 in Waterford
(8pm-9pm)

Astro-Expo
High-power
rockets will be the feature of Astro-Expo, Ireland’s largest annual
telescope and astronomy exhibition. It will also feature the country’s
most powerful telescopes more! Astro-Expo takes place THIS SATURDAY,
NOVEMBER 13. The Astro-Expo
takes place this year in the SNIAM
Building, Trinity College Dublin.
We
have an exciting line-up

Admission
to the exhibition is free, admission to the lectures cost 10euro (8euro member’s
rate) for each lecture or 25euro (20euro member’s rate) for a day pass.
As always, these lectures will be available for everyone in Ireland on DVD.
