[Astronomy Ireland]Computer projector needed
Sorry to have to hit the entire list with this request but we are seeking your help. We need a computer projector (to hook up to a laptop) for our speaker this evening (Monday Sept. 8 in Dublin City University). The usual one we use is not available and we only found this out today. We are hoping that one of you who is coming to Martin Houston's talk tonight might have access to a computer projector in work that we could borrow? We would be grateful if you could ask if you can borrow it for the night. (We will try hiring one, and the lecture WILL go ahead don't worry). If this is the case please call AI's Administrator Tom Finnegan on (01) 860 3828 or 086-810 5155. Please also email me at info@astronomy.ie or try calling me at the number below if you have any difficulty talking to Tom. P.S. Our Cork Branch is also looking for the same item for Wednesday night's lecture in Jury's Hotel, Western Road (8pm "Creationist Cosmology"). They may have solved their problem but if you're in Cork and going along on Wednesday and could offer assistance just email me and I'll check if they got fixed up. Thanks for any help you can give. P.S. So as not to waste everyone else's time with this email here's a reminder that the RIA have Wendy Freedman speaking in Dublin next Monday (mostly sold out I believe) and Belfast the day after (see www.ria.ie) Our beginners evening classes starting Oct. 2nd are now taking bookings (http://www.astronomy.ie/eveningclass.html) Mars is close to the Moon tonight (Monday) and tomorrow night - see Sky Diary of September's issue of Astronomy & Space magazine for details. ===== David Moore BSc FRAS, Chairman, Astronomy Ireland, P.O.Box 2888, Dublin 5.
