1. LECTURE Astronomy Ireland Public Lecture March 13 "Search for Extra-solar Planets" IRISH TEAM TO HUNT DOWN PLANETS AROUND OTHER STARS By Dr. Ray Butler, Physics Department, NUI Galway. Astronomers are finding more and more planets around stars outside our own solar system. It is very possible some of these distant planets may harbour life. These discoveries are made possible by amazing new technology. Dr. Butler is very much involved in the forefront of this constantly evolving technology. Well, we will have a Get Well Soon card at the above lecture which you can sign and we will rush it to him the next day. The good news is that Patrick had a heart pacemaker successfully fitted and is expected to return to his home in southern England soon.
