With clear skies and the country’s most powerful telescopes, giant binoculars, and the strongest handheld laser pointer in Ireland for a sky guide, you can be sure to see some of the most amazing sights in the Universe! On display will be: · Galaxies – distant star cities of a trillion stars · Clusters – young stars and old stars, some with millions of stars · Dying stars – the glowing embers of dead giant stars dotted throughout the Milky Way · Planets – the outermost gas giants in the Solar System, Uranus and Neptune · Plus the guest star, ‘The Dolphin Nova’ The Star-B-Q is the major fundraiser for Astronomy Ireland, with people travelling from all over the country to attend.
