[Astronomy Ireland] Location of Fireball Announced
** *Location of Fireball Announced* *Astronomy Ireland Experts Kick Off 'Big Search' for Wednesday's Huge Fireball* Tonight, in Dublin, at Astronomy Ireland's Monthly Public Lecture the first hint of the hugely anticipated location of last Wednesday's sensational fireball was announced. Experts at Astronomy Ireland have predicted that the fireball, which likely derived from leftover debris which floats around in space, landed* *somewhere in County Donegal. Further reports will refine the exact location of the landing, and Astronomy Ireland are urging the general public to continue to submit 'Fireball Reports' via the Astronomy Ireland website - www.astronomy.ie. Information on this spectacular event will be continually released via the Friends of Astronomy Ireland email list over the coming weeks and months. *"We suspect only one in a hundred people who saw the fireball have actually reported it,"* said David Moore, Chairman of Astronomy Ireland. *"This makes triangulating the landing site very difficult, indeed. We want everyone who saw the fireball to report it via our website as soon as possible!"* Those wanting to hunt for the meteorite, and those interested in receiving regular updates from the Friends of Astronomy Ireland list go to www.astronomy.ie and follow the simple steps on the homepage. This service is completely free and the organisation would urge everyone to sign up. *For further information go to www.astronomy.ie or call (01) 847 0777.* *Astronomy Ireland <http://www.astronomy.ie/>* *The world's most popular Astronomy Club www.astronomy.ie* *( subscribe / unsubscribe<http://lists.redbrick.dcu.ie/mailman/listinfo/astronomy> )* *Our Online Telescope <http://www.astronomy.ie/shop.html>Shop<Shop@lists.redbrick.dcu.ie> *
