Only one of the mails I've received so far actually came from the mailing list! The rest of them were sent by people hitting 'reply all' to the individual email addresses, like I'm doing right now. That's not how mailing lists are supposed to work, if you're using the redbrick lists server, the mails should be going TO 'drama-alumni@lists.redbrick.dcu.ie', and the redbrick server will mail it out individually to everyone. It should add a '[Drama-alumni]' tag to the subject so you can sort them. When you get your password and log in to the list, you can also choose to receive at most one email a day, and the server will store them all and send you a single digest with the mails from that day. Nice if there's lots of mail to a list and you dont need to see it immediately. Just letting y'all know ;-) -Stephen, Redbrick Admin 2006/2007 ;) On 1/25/07, Derek Williams <derek@derekwilliams.org> wrote:
To all those who are asking why are you on the list......
You're getting the mail because you're suscribed to teh DCU Drama Alumni mailing list, a mail sent by any member of the list to the list's email address will be relayed to each suscriber - How you got on the list I don't know - but chances are you were part of DCU Drama at some stage
Here's the link to unsuscribe from the list so you won't get any more mails

It's at the bottom of the email - surely a lot easier than hitting 'Reply to all' and asking the same question over and over?

Hey guys,
Now i know I'm the absolute worst person in the world for keeping contact but I was just thinking how for a good while we did manage to keep a bit of an email chat type thing going. Nothing exciting but I do remember many a Friday drinking session coming out of it
Being so far away it's easy for me to forget to keep in contact and all that stuff and over the past few weeks i've been a bit worried that you end up drifting apart and not keeping in touch with people.
So anyway i'm being a bit proactive. I've pulled as many email addresses out of my contact list as I can find, some are probably old and out of date but we can work on it. Hit reply all, say hello and let us all know what you're up to.
For my part in case you didn't know. I'm living in New Zealand at the moment, promoting student events and lifestyle in a small city that has 30000 students. I run some events, edit a website, support students to do stuff and do lots of other weird things but nothing too exciting. Me and eimear have been here for over a year. Eimear works in Massey University working on Clubs and Socs development. she's basically the SPC, SCC and Ian Russell all rolled into one for those who know what i'm talking about.
We're not staying here forever, we're trying to figure out what to do next so if you are looking for a free bed in nz you better book your flights quick.
I can't think of anything else. Just wanted to say hello.
btw i don't think fergus's email is correct and i've know i've forgotten some people so add them if you like
