[Drama-alumni] This Week in Drama!
Ahoy Campers! It's Arts Week, which means Drama are going nuts again. For a change... Coming up this week: ONE ACT PLAYS: The enterprising and intrepid casts of our two one-act plays will be strutting their stuff at 2pm in the Interfaith today (Tues), tomorrow and Thursday. We have the hilarious, student-penned "The Play's the Thing," a Hamlet based short AND our own adaptation of "The Breakfast Club." You'll laugh, you'll cry and we're hoping you won't hurl. (Old reference I know...) BUT the best part is they're FREE. So come along and enjoy! STARS IN THEIR EYES: (In association with MPS and ArtSoc) ...will be happening in the Venue at 7.30 Wednesday night. We have a wide and talented range of singers, and it promises to be a smashing evening. Tickets are an abnormally cheap 5 euro and a paltry 4 euro for members of Drama, MPS and ArtSoc. Look out for our stand in the HUB :) WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY?: After our bonanza performance at the 25th Anniversary Bash on Friday night, having been inundated with requests, we have decided to do it all over again! Pop along to the New Bar at 3pm Wednesday to see the mayhem for yourself... IT'S FREE. WORKSHOPS: We have a Production Workshop next Tuesday night (22nd) in the Venue (tbc) at 8pm. Anyone who is already producing a show for Drama WE NEED YOU THERE. The Lovely Elaine Bannon will be displaying her talents for all to see. Seriously though, she co-produced last year's musical, so knows her stuff. Anyone interested in getting involved in producing shows is welcomed, nay implored to come along. It's FREE (today's catchword) and sure we might venture out for a pint afterwards... DCU OPEN DAY: Is happening this Saturday the 19th. Drama will be setting up a stand and holding another zany workshop, and we need volunteers to help out! Contact me at chair@dcudrama.ie to lend your support to lassoing next year's freshers! GODS & GODDESSES NIGHT: This Thursday in the New Bar our friends in Debate Soc are having a "Gods & Goddesses" party. There will be prizes for best dressed, worst dressed and most divine couple! Its in the new bar at around 8.30pm and there will be "drink promotions": FX alcopops €3, Fosters €3 and Twisters shots €1.50, or buy two get one free. Beat that! MORE AUDITIONS: One of our members, Alan Flanagan, is shooting a short movie ("Love Hate Hope Fear") and needs actors and actresses! Get your mug on camera and head on over to CG05 & CG06 at 6pm this Wednesday and Thursday... SOCS BALL TIX: There are still a few heads out there who haven't gotten around to paying for the Socs Ball tickets they ordered through Drama. We realise that all of the ATMs on campus (as well as the one in Eurospar across the road, according to reports) are out of action, so we understand if it's a pain in the butt to lay your hands on some cash right now. Please contact treasurer@dcudrama.ie to let us know you're still interested. Enough already, and enjoy Arts Week! Bob -- Roibeard O Mhurcu # 54144094 CS2 Class Rep.
