To: drama-commitee(a)lists.redbrick.dcu.ie Ahoy Hoy, Elaine has just informed me of another potential night out for the Drama Society. There's a group of amateur players are putting on a variety type show in T36, the teacher's lounge on Parnell St. all next week. Included will be a ten minute version of Macbeth (sorry, THE SCOTTISH PLAY) ! Prices are cheap as chips, 6 bucks a head if we bring more than ten people. I believe there's talk of getting this partly funded by the SPC too. We could get in for as little as 3 bucks. Personally, Wednesday (the 3rd) suits me the best. Get back to me soon you guys and let me know what you think. If we are agreed on this, then we can spread the word starting monday. Hey Folks, Just to make sure I'm right on this one for tomorrow (organisation is not a strong point of mine!) for RHPS, we have the following, right? 30 x Water Pistols 200 x Lighters Latex Gloves (courtesy of Lisa) Popcorn (Courtesy of Gary) Toilet roll (Stolen by Aoife / Bought by Elaine) Newspaper (supplied by Dave at the Spar DCU) I have talked to Kevin Delany and he says that Rice is actually the best option, as confetti is impossible to get up when wet and paper doesn't throw well. Just means we have to clean it though :S Elaine, do you wanna get that in Tesco if at all possible? Also I'm looking for 4 decks of cheap cards and small plastic bags for the junk if possible, which I could possibly pick up in Tesco's tomorrow after 4pm, but obviously if you can then great. The script suggests throwing hotdogs, mustard cakes, buns and other foodstuffs but I think we're endeavouring to avoid this. Practically, Widger and myself will project the script up and scroll through it. CAVS will supply screens and projectors. But do we need to go to AV about a projecter ? I could not ascertain whether we have to or not. About the cleanup: Anyone who can commit a few minutes during Thursday , it would be very much appreciated. I'm afraid that I have double labs and cannot worm my way out if these, though I will be there after 5 and hopefully around 1 aswell, though ideally we can have it done earlier. Should we mail the member list and request their assistance? That's how we did it last year I think. Ok folks, that's that. Anything else I've missed? I'm not keen on producing and practically guaranteed to fuck it up so please point out any flaws to me. Thanks, Dave.

Hidely Ho y'all, Having done much research, here are our entertainment options for the proposed night of Thursday 11th of November... GATE THEATRE: "Shining City" by Conor McPherson. 8.00pm Tix: 23/25 Euro. - A recently bereaved man goes to a counsellor, having seen the ghost of his dead wife. It goes downhill from there. ABBEY THEATRE: "Observe the Sons of Ulster marching towards the Somme" by Frank McGuinness. 8.00 pm Tix: 15, 20, 25, 30 Euro. - World War I fare involving the Paddies going off to fight for the Brits. THE CORN EXCHANGE, TEMPLE BAR: "Dublin By Lamplight" by Michael West. 8.00 pm Tix: 13 Euro or 10 for groups. - Dublin, 1904. Adventures in theatre. Fading stars, whores and fun and games ! CIVIC THEATRE, TALLAGHT: "Swimming with Sharks" by ? (sorry, website not very good) Tix: 13, 10 Euro. - The seedy underbelly of Hollywood etc... AND: "The Hostage" by Brendan Behan. 8.00 pm (?) Tix: 16, 20 euro. - IRA takes British soldier hostage, then gets him drunk and laid. DRAIOCHT, BLANCHARDSTOWN: "Twenty Grand" by Declan Hughes. 8.00 pm(?) Tix: 13, 16 Euro - underworld gangland Dublin type stuff. AXIS ARTS CENTRE, BALLYMUN: "Lament for Arthur Cleary" 8.00 pm Tix: cheap as chips (about 8 euro if memory serves) - 1980's Ireland, moneylenders and other cheerful stuff. As for the Civic centre in Tallaght, their website is crap and I don't know whether the "Hostage" or "Swimming with sharks" is showing the night of the 11th. We also have the option of that RTE thing I mentioned earlier in the week. That would kick off at about 4.30 and would have us back out on the street for 6.30 - 7 ish. WE could, in theory, do the RTE thing and then a play, but that leaves us no time to eat. Speaking of eating, the joint where I work say they can accommodate a table of 10 (or thereabouts) on the night of the 11th. I have this very provisionally booked but we would want to say yes or no fairly soon. They offer three different 3 - course set menus for larger groups priced at 38.50, 43.50 and 52.50 per head. House wines start at about 19.90. Need to learn more ? www.diep.net Go into the section for "Diep Le Shaker" NOT "Diep Noodle Bar" It's pretty flash, but pricey.
