Hey I'm afraid alan and eadaoine will have to do without you for a while tonight. i will call alan at 5 and let him know its just for today and you wont be long. it just for an hour around 7. (7.30-8.15 "ish" for the drama-committee meeting). There are a few things that need to be sorted. How does everyone feel about having a meeting Sunday night around 8.00 instead of mondays as mondays don't seem to be working...? we could all go for a drink after then too and it wont be so tense cause we wont be all dashing off. Got the following mail from riona today.... ------------------------------ SPC General Members Meeting ------------------------------ This will take place this Wednesday (2nd March) at 1pm in the Seminar Room. As it is our main forum for discussion and feedback, at least one representative from every society should attend. We would also like as many equipment officers as possible to be there. The agenda for the meeting is: - DCU Awards - BICS (National) Awards - Info on the SPC elections 2005 - Bar Meetings - Equipment Council Update Obviously I cant make it in for the meeting. Is there anyone free at this time to take some notes and be the voice of drama should it be required? Elaine

[Drama-committee] ISDA meeting and forum

Hi Aoife, Just a reminder that the next ISDA meeting (the last before the Festival) is this Saturday 26th February at 2pm in Trinity College, and each college is advised to bring a technical rep to the meeting. I've attached the minutes from the last meeting. Also ISDA is holding a forum for students on the process of writing/devising for theatre tomorrow (Friday 25th) at 3pm in the Project Arts Centre Space Upstairs. Speaking will be Christine Madden, Elske Rahill and Gary Duggan, and Willie White is to chair. This should be a very interesting event so if you can gather some people at short notice do come along. How're yis! Remember me? Louise May who directed lovers last year?? No? it was good..it was!!! Anyhoo, I'm teaching drama for the school of nursing this year, they've an arts module in second year. I know, talk about joinin the establishment! i'm directing a play called "whither thou goest" with the group and i just wanted to appeal to the obvious good nature of drama peeps for a dig out with staging etc. All the cash is coming from the school so worry not and there will be a massive big up to dcu drama if ya are involved. It's early days but i'll let ya know how i'm getting on! Also i wanted to bring the group to see macbeth tomorrow so i was wonderin could the get in for the members rate? there should be ten of them? Ahoy Campers! It's time for another fun filled week of escapades with your favourite group of on-campus nutters. The party kicks off at 8.15 Monday over at the Space in the HELIX, with our debut performance of Shakespeare's "Scottish Play". We've prepared a modernised, contemporary version of the show, which basically means we've left out the boring crap and added more guns (guns, lots of guns). MacBeth will be running at 8.15 on Monday to Thursday nights this week, with a matinee set for 2pm Wednesday. AND for the bargain-bin price of just 6 Euro, you get to see Ambition, Greed, Lunacy, Regicide and Murder! (I've forgotten the names of the other two dwarfs, sorry). BUT THERE'S MORE ! If you should produce one of our much-coveted (and stylish) DCU Drama membership cards, we'll let you in for a ridiculous 4 Euro. We're cutting our own throats here... Tickets are available from the Box Office at the HELIX, and Drama will be running a stand in the HUB all week, be sure to stop by. We are looking for volunteers to lend a hand selling tickets at our stand, so if you have a free hour or two during the week and would like to help out, give me a shout at dramabob(a)gmail.com. So come and see MacBeth, a gritty tale of conspiracy and blood (lots of blood). ALSO THIS WEEK: Congrats to those who won a part in this year's musical, "Sweet Charity" ! [Drama-committee] Macbeth IMPORTANT

Ahoy gang, WE GOT THE HELIX !!!!! We are in the Space for all five shows next week - myself, Elaine and Lisa met with Marie-Louise this morning and negotiated a deal. Venue issues solved. Of course with this news comes many more issues... We have two lighting riggers for five hours on Monday morning for a get in and possibly a tech run through. In an ideal world, we would get the lighting rigged in three hours and follow it with a run through. But that's not my department... We need to arrange a meeting for about 1pm today if possible, I know that it's extremely short notice. At this meeting we need to have Claire, Conor, Dave, myself, Gary, Elaine. Priority number one: Lighting. Claire and conor need to sit down and prepare specific lighting instructions and cues etc for the riggers. We will be shown how to work the desk, for those who don't know jow to use it. But we definitely need to walk in there monday morning with a detailed lighting plan. Elaine tells me that the rigging layout is available on the Helix website. Claire and Conor may need to meet with Marie-Louise Friday to sort out a few details...
