[Drama-Committee] One Act Wonder update

Hey guys, Just to update ye on a few things... - It looks like DCU will be given two 40 min slots and one 20 min slot for the festival which means basically all of our one act plays should be able to go on to compete in One Act Wonder. - We had suggested putting forward Marie Louise O'Donnell as a possible adjudicator for the festival but Martin French is completely against this decision. According to him, she's 'hell to deal with', but she also cannot be an adjudicator as she is judging the LOAFS (hee hee) which would mean she would get to see the plays twice which wouldn't really be fair. So basically we are back to square one as regards finding an adjudicator for DCU Drama to put forward. Liana, Joey suggested maybe you might have some contacts? Or is there anyone else here in DCU that might be suitable? We kind of have to have this decided by Monday or Tuesday, so any suggestions bring 'em on! Susan :-)

MONEY Could the committee who haven't paid for Broadway and Socs Ball get the money into Joey by Monday? We physically can't book the final show or accommodation till the committee pay up. TABLE QUIZ It's booked for 22nd of November, we need to get cracking! John- do you have a list of what 'questions' people said they were going to do? If so, could you e-mail it out to the committee and could the respective committee members write 10 questions on their part? Thanks STARS IN THEIR EYES Liana- The new poster is up in Clubs & Socs and needs to go up on Monday. Get cracking on the set design and stage set up. Conor- Get cracking on the set for Stars. Make a smaller version of your poster for campus print- edit it to be 'ticket' size. i.e. 6 or 8 to an A4 page -NEEDS TO BE READY FOR SALE ON MONDAY - Therfore we need about 250 tickets (?) therefore work out if you need ((6 tickets = 42 pages... 8 tickets = 32 pages...etc)) Joey - E-mail running order for Stars night to committee Programme for Stars E-mail John and Alan a list for requirements in each act Trophies Susan D - Send Joey a list of sponsors to go in programme MPS- when are they filming? Have they agree to film the show itself? Eoin - book two projectors and two screens for the night John and Alan - Is tech sorted? Has a dry ice machine been booked? Susan B - Organise ticket selling rota for Week Liana and Alan - Posters in cubby hole. Get these on boards on Monday. MAKE SURE BOARDS ARE PUT AWAY EACH NIGHT! The LOAFS Alan - E-mail directors and ask for tech requirements. possible meeting with these on Monday? Remind them that we're getting it from 4pm on Tuesday with shows running from 6. Conor - Joey asked if you could do the programme for this. Just a simple A4 front and back with all the details of cast, directors, writers, producers, etc. Steve - organise running order for night John - Finish the poster for the Loafs. It might come out better quality if you send it to Conor & get him to finish it (he's got paint shop etc) Joey - Confirm who the judges are Trophies Comedy Night Steve - bring speakers from Skerries??? John and Alan - what sort of tech do we need? DO I NEED TO BRING THE SPEAKERS FROM MY HOUSE? Cus if so, then I'll need a lift into college on Sunday as I won't be able to bring them in on the bus and I won't be able to head home till after thurs this week The Helix I'm happy to wait to see how Marie Lousie does, it's just good to know that the dates are actually available... Hey Guys, On Tuesday I was cheeky and rang the Helix inquiring about availability of the Space. Got the answering machine... left a message that went something like this... "Hi, my name is Stephen, I'm inquiring about availability of the Space for the months of March & April. My number is 0857079768... could you get back to me?" (notice how I didn't mention Drama?!) Well, Tara got back to me and informed me that the dates of March 5th-9th, March 12th-16th, March 19th-23rd & March 26th-30th were ALL available. That's the entire month of March!!! Anyway, I said I had to speak to my 'producer' about it to confirm the exact dates... At least we know for a fact they are available... what should be our next course of action? Should we try to book week 3 and week 5 in The Space and then be like... "by the by.... we're DCU Drama." (cus she still doesn't know...) Let me know of your opinions... Hi all, Apologies for not being able to attend Monday's meeting. Have spoken with Marie-Louise- I get the impression that she's well on the case. She asked me to be more specific with dates for the second semester so I told her Week 3 + 5 would be great. I also get the impression that she's fully aware of Miss Nolan's incompetance and ignorance. *Just a quick question for Suz*- what did Tara say when you asked her for specific dates in The Space? Did you give her a window of dates to work from? Marie-Louise just wants to know... Off the back of the minutes, just one item needs adjusting. That's the fact that Ana Popovich is against the idea of doing her play in the Seminar Room- I got a phonecall from her! Basically, I think it saves us hassle if we're able to accomodate her by switching Eoin O' Neill's to Thursday? Would this be a problem? Also, any word on 'announce-drama' designing a new logo for us for the hoodies...? Sooner we get one, the sooner we'll have brand, spanking-new hoodies... Finally, I'm back up tomorrow pm so if anyone needs a hand with anything, just give us a shout. Over and out (from Cork), Eoin.

Tara Nolan answered her phone for once.... said her system is down at the minute (aka she cant see the dates she has free...) and then proceeded to go over the dates I'd already asked for....from memory!?!? yeaaaa ok! I dunno whats going on here guys but its seriously dodgy. First of all she has nothing for this semester at all. She'll give us Feb 5-9 but she has nothing else for the month of february. So shes checking the month of march for me and getting back to me tomorrow. If we're hitting April - thats musical territory!
