Hey peoples, Rang Jervis to confirm bagpack and check out till numbers. Its only 7 tills, so we should be grand for that. BUT the person I was talking to was telling me that Friday is a crap day for bag packing, she said that we'd be better off with... Thurs 13th from 4pm-9pm Sat 15th from 10am - 7pm Sun 16th from 12 - 6:30pm So its still three days, and sunday would prob be better for it anyway (she said its usually packed on a sunday). That cool and the gang? I'm gonna ring round the committee and others tonight to get helpers, could you guys e-mail me about times you can do??? [Drama-Committee] 'Key' Please!!!

Hey guys, About the Martin French desk, myself and John will be in DCU on sat morning, so I'll collect it. (if someone could give me the key???) My uncle is over and he's a carpenter so we'll fix it up properly and whatnot. Then we'll drop it back to him. Is he missing anything else? Also, with the bagpack in Jervis, I'm willing (and wanting) to organize a rota for this one, I'm not going to start ringing around till end of June/ start of July because people won't really be able to tell me when they're free. We could send an announce drama e-mail, but from my experience, this usually does nothing. (As can be shown from my last announce drama where I got one reply...) But I'll send it anyway. Well done to Joey and Alan for sending back those scripts!!! (Two years and counting!!!) Finally, I know everyone has good intentions when they volunteer for things, but if you know you're gonna be busy then don't volunteer. There's 11 people on this committee (not including the old committee) and no one person should have to shoulder all the resposibility. They've been sent to Musicscope in London and I think it's safe to say that we can expect an angry letter in a couple of weeks' time concerning the various bits and bobs that are missing. I'm not sure who their point of contact is (possibly Claire O' Neill?) but we should hopefully know the full extent of the damage fairly soon. I just received Bob's text there as I was typing so, as you already know, Martin D'French's stand used in the Merchant of Venice, has yet to be sanded down and returned to it's rightful owner. Hey guys, I came into DCU today to send back the Sweet Charity scripts and scores but, between one thing and another, by the time I got them ready to go, the post office had already closed. (I thought I'd be able to send them from the GPO but I've just been told that their postal services close at 5:30 which is now.) Sorry! I'll try and get in again at some stage next week to send them. I've left them in a box addressed to musicscope in the store room. I'm gonna hang onto the store room key until then if that's okay and I'll get back to Dave/Steve/Alan asap. [Drama-Committee] Fond farewell - and musical news!

Heya guys, Just thought I'd sort out some stuff before I head off to the good ole' US of A tomorrow afternoon! Firstly, preparations for the musical are going as well as can be expected! We have succeeded in booking the Helix for the first week in April next year (week 9)! Having checked the calendar, this week is ideal because it gives us a week of auditions and then 8 weeks to prepare the actual show. Talked to Elaine Bannon a few minutes ago - and she agreed on 4,000 Euro for the week - plus tech - which according to her should work out at around 2,800 Euro. The Helix booklet is printed seasonaly, so as soon as we get a show picked, we can send a provisional poster and a blurb into the helix marketing dept and there we have some pretty nice advertising....if I do say so myself. As far as shows go - I plan on keeping in close contact with Alan (arent u lucky! haha....well maybe not...) and compiling separate presentations on each of the shows shortlisted! After I've sent them (by email...) to the committee...I think we should have a vote - maybe some time in early August! How does that sound to you guys? The earlier we have the show picked - the better! As far as directors go - Ive been soo busy getting organised for America I havent looked at the DVDs that Liana gave me of Jamie who directed Nightmare before Christmas and the circus one - Barnum! She met with him and he seems very interested in working with DCU Drama! But that can be all looked at in August - I want everyone to meet him - maybe invite him to a meeting. Its a big step getting a new director and trusting him with that much money ya know! Sponsorship wise - Im taking on board John's suggestions and Im gonna spend most of July looking up contact details and working on the portfolio so its super tight! August I'll start calling people from America and arranging meetings for late August. When I have them set-up I'll send you guys a list of meetings and I'll take volunteers! Cant storm the castle on my own dontcha know! lol Anywho - guys...have a great Summer! I wont be at the next few meetings - so apologies in advance! I'll see you guys at the Ashbourne bag-pack in August and dont forget the Gorey one in September!!!
