Hello my friends I'm off on a well deserved holiday. Unfortunately, I won't be back for orientation week...which is a bit crappy, and I feel bad about it...but I can't really avoid it. I've spent the last two weeks getting the site up, so hopefully that'll make up for my absence. Riona, sent you the vector version of the t-shirt design. Martin, check out the sponsorship section of the site and let me know if it's okay. Medb, welcome home :) Everybody else, see you in a few weeks. [Drama-committee] Web-site Admin Password

Here are the details for the admin page of the new site. From here you can add news, productions, events, etc. Just some basic security for now, beefed up later. New site (in it's basic form minus graphics and fancy nice bits) is up at the usual address http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~drama/ It's not 100% yet, but at least members can read news, production announcements, mail us. The site is now almost completely database driven, and is built in XHTML and PHP. Basically, it's built for the future, and should grow to meet our needs much better than the old one. Okay, that's all. I'm tired, it's pretty late. Like I said, it's a bit rough and ready at the moment, but the foundations are there. Two weeks work to get to where we are now, maybe a couple more to get it perfect. hey ther, Louise May is my name, yup you got it, Paul-webmaster-May's lil sis. Really wanted to get involved last year but i was havin some freshers jitters about joining in. Well done to you all on west side story, it was brilliant, i thought paul was particularly dashing (he's paying me later). So any I basically wanted to offer my services to do a few workshops for you, to get the freshers and new to drama folk involved. I've been acting since i was a wee'un, i'm by no means a pro but i could definately do a few introductory sessions. Howaya! I'm away Inter-Railing for a few weeks from next week, I'll be back before college starts though. Anyway, site is progressing, just a little bare of content. There was a section on the old site with the history of DCU Drama...and I can't find it...it isn't in the backup I made of the old site. Anybody who know where this is, or know's what I'm talking about...get in touch. We may need to re-write it, so anybody who know's how and where the society came from, or knows who to talk to....you're in charge of that. Okay, I need somebody to write a section about the facilities available to members. Stuff like: The Hub Lighting Sound Costumes The Helix Music equipment Rehearsal rooms Human resources, people, musicians, artists etc. And anything else that takes your fancy. Elaine...this is probably you're gig, you know about the lighting, sound, venue aspects of stuff. If we could come up with something fairly concise but impressive, that'd suit me. Martin, thanks for the propagandatastic stuff you sent me, I appreciate it. I'll add that to the site over the weekend. Okay, so that's it. Site is still bare, but getting there. I've spent most of the time making the database stuff for the site. Basically you'll all be able to add news and production announcements, auditions etc. to the site by just entering into a form on the web, very simple. I'm hoping to have the site up, the bare version of it, on monday..so I'll be in touch about that. I know we haven't decided on logos and stuff like that....but sure, I'll throw them in when we have time. Oh, and I'd also like to rope people like Adam, Ross, Podge into writing a few words for the site to reflect why they joined the society, what experience they had before they joined...just show that we need different types of people with different levels of experience...all that. A human face to all the different types of people in the society. Any more ideas? Suggestions? I am your humble servant. Right, that's all from me. Hello! Hope everybody is well, enjoying the great weather (if you're in Ireland). Anyway, I'm working on the site at the moment, and I need suggestions as to what to put on it. So what sections would you like to see on it? I'm not working on the look and feel of the site, just the bare bones of the html, database stuff.
