Hi everybody, Firstly I would like to appologise for being a piss-poor officer lately. I've being going through some shit that I don't really want to discuss but I should have given my responsibilities to somebody else seeing this was the case and i'm sorry for this. Secondly, I dont think the vagina monologues is going ahead. We have hit several obstacles over the past two weeks. First of all the helix is unavailable until week 12 which is obviously out of the question and putting the show on in the venue is such a huge step down from previous show, intimate wise and this would also cut down on our pr (people traveled as far as Belfast to see the show last year having heard about it on the helix website). Secondly i have had 3 drop outs so far, one from my angry vagina just on monday which is going to be nearly impossible to recast as it is practically the anchor of the show. Finally, the v-day organisation have contacted me with an angry e-mail saying that last years follow up report was not completed and they were contemplating refusing us rights anyway, a bit harsh seeing as this is the first I have heard of this. Myself and sinead have decided that this show is far too important and people hold it in such high regards for us to do a show that is only half decent or a show that doesn't meet up to the standards of last years show. Hey... Once again they're late... I am sorry. Are we having a meeting next Monday? Barry and I won't be able to attend because of the show but if it's needed let me know and I'll throw together an agenda. Salut! Minutes Meeting Mon 16th March 2009. ABSENT: Ciara Lighting: - The workshop went well. Jay gave us a list of equipment we should ask the SU to invest in. If we grant app?d for it all then we?re bound to get some. - The new lighting desk itself is great and easy to use. 12th Night: - ADAM requested a budget from CONOR for it. It will take place in either week 10 or 11. RENT: - We need to start selling tickets in the Henry Grattan and the Hub. ED will get onto the Helix about it. - Ciara has been around local businesses looking for sponsorship. What?s after Rent? - Week 9, 10 and 11 are for Bash, 12th Night and Vagina Monologues. - DADA?s will be the beginning of week 12 and the AGM will probably be the Monday of week 10. - Sound of Disney will either be in week 8 or 9 and there will also be workshops. Society application form: - There has been a rumour that our form for the awards didn?t go through properly. Ger sent it but he?ll get onto them again just to make sure everything is ok. AOB: - We agreed that if there are no profits made from Rent that the society will give 200e to the Dublin Aids Alliance. - Awards dinner: Apparently 5 committee members can attend the dinner but this was not finalised as of yet. Dec and Holly will get places anyway as they?re nominated but we decided that if this goes ahead that Ger, Ed, Conor, Sinead and Barry will attend. - Shay wants us to do a Rent performance at the awards. Sorry they're a bit late.... ABSENT: Blaithin BICS: - Pauric found a four-hundred euro check in his suit pocket from the BICS. We need to see if its still in date. Lighting Workshop: -There is a lighting workshop this Wednesday at 7pm. Encourage all to come. AIMS: - Ed gave Conor a slip which he needs to sign and send straight away. RENT PRO: - Cian needs help to get the big Rent sign up in the Hub on Thursday morning. - The Gardener is giving out about us and the Rent signs. Apparently we need to get permission from him to put them up. Everyone must ensure that all traces of Rent PR are removed when the show is over. ISDA: -The application etc is sent off and everything seems to be good. Barry is attending the meeting this Saturday. Nominations: - Best Fresher is Holly. Pauric will help her writing this. - First Fives is Declan. He will write it. - Cian will fill in Best Poster application - Ed will fill in Website and Best event *******We need to send an email about photos and videos of our events. 9.30 in the Old Bar guys!!! DCU DRAMA COMMITTEE MEETING Agenda: Monday 2nd March 2009. ? Ratification of last meeting?s minutes ? Any matters arising from the minutes ? Vagina Monologues ? Sponsorship ? Hoodies ? Drown Drama ? Rent ? AOB Vagina Monologues: - The options are the 19th of March or the 28th of April. If we choose the April date, Ciara will have to hand the show over to Sinead. If it?s in March it?s the week before Rent. We voted and decided that we will do it in March on the basis that the only day the girls are missing from rehearsals is the day of the show. Ciara can organise meetings with the girls individually to accommodate this if needs be. Sponsorship; - Bag packing is only available in June. It will be decided again if we will do it. If we do busking we need to get a permit. Need to start to get onto local businesses. Hoodies; -Cian will get them this week. The final figure looks to be about 24 euro. About 27 people have ordered them. Drown Drama: -Obviously it wasn?t done. We decided to do it on Tuesday in the old bar. Ed will get the sponges and buckets, Pauric will inform Niall. Rent: - Everything is going well. 1000 A3 posters and 10,000 flyers have been ordered and we should have them by Wednesday. Cian will have to go and get the ties etc in B & Q. AOB: -Adam will ring Jay this week about swapping the desks. -A radio mike was stolen from the venue. It?s worth 222 euro. We have virtually no chance of getting it back but could we look into getting things insured? -ISDA stuff is sent and the 100 euro check will be sent this week. -Pauric will begin workshops next week and will hopefully put on Play in a Day type things and Sound of Disney one Tuesday before the old bar and charge 2euro in. -We got photos of the Neyenga Drama Society and they?re on bebo. Can someone clarify when drown drama is?Its advertised as tuesday at 9..should we not just do it then? DCU DRAMA COMMITTEE MEETING Agenda: Monday, February 23rd 2009 ? Ratification of last meeting?s minutes ? Any matters arising from the minutes ? ISDA ? Sponsorship Update ? Lighting Desk update ? Rent Matters- Any update? ? Ger broke the bungee cord- Legend! ? AOB ISDA: - Sent us the guide for tech and accommodation. - Pauric doesn?t want to send a show; Holly is the lead in the 12th Night so Joey?s play will be sent. It isn?t much visually but the monologues are good. We at best would win best actor. - All paperwork needs to be got off Pauric and given to Joey. The checks need to be sent along with the forms. Joey needs to get the rights but they are available. Sponsorship: -Cian suggested an idea for sponsorship for next year. We could send out sponsorship application forms and offer the companies free tickets to Rent to showcase what they would be sponsoring. All agreed it would be a good idea. -Everyone needs to get onto people for sponsorship. Lighting Desk: -Dec got onto Jay. He?ll swap at some stage this week (not before Strictly.) Rent: - 106 tickets have been sold already. - Cian should have the posters by the end of the week and cast should begin postering by next week. - A production meeting needs to be called asap. - A props manager is needed; Ger will do it. AOB: - Strictly needs tech. DEC will do sound and ADAM will do lighting. - We don?t know if drown drama will be tomorrow or Wednesday? We will try and clarify this. - The DCU Uganda Drama club sent us cards. Ed will update the website with the details. - There have been a number of short film submissions.
