Hi, This is a *very* long mail, but please read it. It we want the event to be a success, we gotta get things rolling! Results of meeting from last night: Redbrick, DCU Drama and Music Soc are collaborating for their Xmas party this year! We have three bands. We have a Santas Grotto. We have presents to get and wrap. We have decorations to buy and place. And we have posters to put up all over DCU! Singer song writer, and Who's line is it anyway. It'll be great craic, if we're organised we can pull it off!! Every society agreed to putting 150 in for stuff [100 presents, 50 for decorations]. __________________________ So, can every society put forward 2/3 people, who can come in to town on Sunday, spend 450 euro on decorations and presents, and then spend the day wrapping presents? Myself and Michelle from Redbrick are definitely going. So if you can text me or email me between now and then to let me know who's going, that'd be great. Also, if possible, have a cheque. It's going to be an effort to make sure the money doesnt get confused, so extra care has to be taken, considering there is three societies involved! ______________________________ On Wednesday the "Babez in the Hood" panto is on in the Venue. We have to decorate *on* that day. They finish in there at 7, we start at half eight. So its a good idea to get the decorations up before their last show. We need bodies, to create the grotto as well. Their show starts at 5. IT's a big room. IF we could have people there from 1-2ish decorating, taht'd be a start! Not only do we have to decorate, but we need to clear the stage so bands can get up there. Some of the background set can stay, but most of it has to go. And that has to be done while the bands are sound checkin... That's gonna be a busy half hour! New bar has to be decorated as well... so literally as many people as you can manage to muster from your committees and societies to help out would be great! _________________________ We have a bit of hassle with whether we can get the new bar or not, as MPS are having an event there between 8-10ish. Hopefully though we'll be able to use it after them. We were talking to Sarah, so she know's our plans anyway. Planned for the new bar we have singer songwriter and Whos line is it anyway. Completely impromtu. We are going to need someone from Drama able to run "Who's line is it anyway" and someone from Music soc organising Singer/songwriter stuff. Bands. We'll need the bands to be there *for* sevenish.. You'll all only have an hour and a half to sound check. Music Soc, tell your band. Drama, let CPC know. :) ____________________ I'd like to organise a meeting for monday, we need to co-ordinate properly. And we need to decide if we are going to in on the offer MPS gave us. Explaining the whole rigmarole of why were aren't going in on this event with them is too much hassle, however, they have given us the option, if we want it to go into town with them, when the bar closes at 11.30, to The Voodoo lounge. THey have bands organised, and its a late bar. Pros and cons to this are, DCU as late bars on the tues and thurs, before and after our event, so people might not want to go to town. We'd have to book a bus to take people in, at a risk of making a loss. However, we might fill a bus between the three societies and have a great night! Decision to be made on monday. If people can get back to me and let me know what time suits them, I can book a meeting room, and some decisions can be made. _________________________ Unforuntely I couldnt get the posters up today for a few different reason, but they are designed and lubbly. Can all the PRO's or someone else form the societies get together on Monday to put posters up? This is also a priority! ______________________ So, posters, presents, decorations.
