*DCU Drama Commitee Meeting Minutes* ** *Commitee Members Present* ** Pauric Carroll (Chair) Alan McHale (Vice Chair) Megan O'Riordan (ELO) Fiona Carty (Sponsorship) Alan Keegan (Tech Officer) Connor Lynch (Webmaster/PRO) Yvonne Keane (Training Officer) *Commitee Members Absent* ** Jennifer Tweed (Treasurer) Susan Bourke (Secretary) *Date: *1st July 2007,19:15 Minutes - Ratification of last meeting minutes - Discussion of Susan Doyles departure - Suggestion that Connor Lynch takes on role - Vote take,all in favour - Pauric to check constition on the matter - Pauric to contact Helix about booking dates - Discussion about Santry Drama;is it too much to take on - We decide to do one big workshop with the kids - All sponsorship for Musical has come in...finances secure - Sponsor for our hoodies? - Musical discussion - List of possible producers: Stephen and Marko,Laura Moore,Megan O'Riordan - If possible we would like one of the producers to be on the committee,if not possible then we feel that one of the producers would have to come to meetings and give us a Musical Update every week - We would advise the producer/producers to establish a musical commitee - We would advise them to get rid of matinee shows - We would like to see more students in the band,possible contact Music Soc about this. - Contact Art Soc about set - We would like a student choregrapher - We decide that the role of musical director and singing director should be done by the same person - Who would direct it.Student versus Professional - It was decide that we would have a professinal director - Alan Keegan suggest contacting an alumni about directing....possible Eoin O'Callaghan - Connor to get in contact with Liana to get a list of directors,Yvonne to get in contact with her Dad doing the same thing - We discuss possible Musicals....aiming towards more well known musicals and musical s with well known themes - It was decide that we would give this a little more thought and bring it up at the next meeting - Discussions of new idea's for next years calendar - Pauric suggests that we get a professional group in to lead the play in a day - Agreed that the commitee should be involved rather than lead this event - List of possible people to get;Ciaran Grey/Storytellers - Yvonnes to find out more about this type of event - Pauric brings up Karoke Night in first week - Agreed to have it in the slipper or Nu Bar - Alan Keegan to source Karoke machine - We have been contacted by Lisa Muldowney about doing a short piece in the Helix for orientation week - Pauric to attempt to organise something;possible who's line is it any way - Drama Ball in second semester,possible a swing ball in association with style soc - Movie Premiere discussed - Pauric proposes a dance stlye competion,in the stlye of "So You Think You Can Dance" - Alan Keegan Suggests that this may ne infringing on another societies terrortiory. - Megan suggests we have dances instead for our proposed swing ball.Weall agreed that was avery good idea. - Pauric brings up the need to produce a powerful drama which would be open to all our membership. - We agree if our membership dont approach us about putting one then we would do it ourselves. - Alan Keegan mentions the possibilty of doing a carnival day in association with Arts Soc - Pauric brings up the idea of doing a movie short festival the style of the LOAFs.Alan Keegan suggests that this may be seen as an infringement on MMps,however we all agree that we are perfectly in our rights to do this. - Alan Keegan brings up the idea of asking Cian Brennan to be our rep for the SPC.We vote in favour - NEXT MEETING on Wednesday 18th of July in Alan McHale's House ** There you all go..........
