DCU Drama present a contemporary version of the ultimate tragedy, William Shakespeare's MacBeth. As relevant and chilling today as it was in the Bard's time, MacBeth details the bloody rise and fall of a once loyal General as he is himself unraveled by ambition. The rich language, haunting imagery, equivocating and twisting dialogue and dark malevolence of this masterpiece conspire to make this black show simply unforgettable.

DCU Drama have moved this Scottish play to present day, adding gritty realism and modern settings to the timeless original to create a moody and evocative atmosphere where nothing is but what is not."The show is on a limited run from Monday February 21st to Thursday February 24th with a matinee on Wednesday 23rd as well as a main show. Schools and educators are more than welcome, as exposure to Shakespeare in a relevant setting which students can relate to should be of benefit for leaving certificate English. There are special group rates which students may avail of.
