Okay, this e-mail concerns cast and everybody else. I'm going to start with everybody else as i feel that they won't have the patience to read the entirety of this e-mail. (The cast are well fucking used to it...) SO... eleven topics to cover... 1.) Venue 2.) Costumes 3.) Set Design 4.) Props 5.) Sound 6.) Lighting 7.) Dance 8.) Promotion 9.) Songs 10.) Make up 11.) Rehearsals today... So lets start at the very beginning... 1.) VENUE Venue is booked for these showings and everybody who still wants to help in the panto MUST attend ALL these showings over the next few days... SUNDAY 4th- 10am to 10pm in the Venue, The Hub. ABSOLUTELY VITAL- ALL MUST ATTEND! MONDAY 5th- Show at 2pm- therefore be in Venue @ 9am (?) for set up and any last minute checks etc. 2nd Show at 7:30 therefore be in the Venue @ since last show. TUESDAY 6th- Show at 7:30 therefore be in the Venue @ 4pm. WEDNESDAY 7th- Show at 5:30 therefore be in the Venue @ 2pm. 2.) COSTUMES Costumes are going pretty well so far. Here's some costumes that need sorting (Johns in bed so I'm kinda 2nd guessing, but I'm pretty sure its fairly accurate...) ROBIN, LITTLE J, FRIAR, WILL, NURSE, SHERIFF- Costumes sorted. BLOCK, TACKLE- You need to acquire black tights and white shirts. John is purchasing the material for you tomorrow. FAIRY- Not sure what exactly John has found. Supposidly an old white dress that he plans on adding sparkles etc. TITTY, TOTTY, TUTTY, SEXUAL- Give your measurements to Anna asap. DAVE- I think you have that sorted? VILLAGERS- Old poor looking clothes and the like. GUARDS- Black everything. MOST IMPORTANT- It's a full dress rehearsal on Sunday so BRING ALL YOUR COSTUMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3.) SET DESIGN Okay, the amazing Jenny has saved us from impending doom by designing the best set i've ever seen in my life! The panels we are drawing on will be collected and delivered to the Venue for Saturday the 3rd (today) and from there she will be heading a crew of elite to draw up her designs etc. So any free to help out head on down asap! Paints and other items will be purchased/ stolen today also. Hopefully it'll be complete by sunday night. I IMPLORE EVERYBODY WHO CAN GO TO GO! PLEASE! Kathryn- I'll discuss what needs to be drawn on the A1 pad tomorrow, (sunday) thanks. Also, i suppose this qualifes as 'set design...' but could a group of people walk upstairs in the hub and... borrow a sofa for the set? It's sorta vital... 4.) PROPS Ok, Marwan the magnificant has promised to deliver to me some very valuable props- but we're still way short. What we vitally need out of the list are the following... - A large supersoaker - Something resembling bones - A fairys wand - bow and arrows (as many as possible) - A couple of Quarter Staffs - A few toy swords or other weapons - A brownie badge - A bag for holding money And some other things that aren't springing to mind right now... 5.) SOUND Hey Jay, what is the exact costs (exactly) also do you want someone (ashley) to be your mike equipper? Also don't forget to include batteries in the expenses. 4 shows 15 mikes (be safe, by more rather than less, try your contacts for a better deal!) John is gonna try have that desk in the Venue for Sunday. 6.) LIGHTING Hey John, I'll pobably see you before this but do you need anything else for the lighting? 7.) DANCE Our gorgeous and talented dance co-ordinator Riona will be present throughout the rehearsals on Sunday. She may appear friendly and nice but she harbours the soul of a vicous wilder beast. You fuck up on that dance floor and she'll moon-walk all over ya. Is there anything you need me to do oh wise and ever-demanding Riona? ;-) 8.) PROMOTION Okay, our tickets sales to this moment are zero, zilch, zippo, nil, nadda, none. So that means we're gonna have to endorse the Fuck out of this on Monday or all our hard efforts and work will be meaningless. So Im going to ask a few of you a few favours. At any time is it possible for those NOT IN THE SHOW to man the tabes outside the venue and sell tickets. The 2pm show on Monday is now a €3 special to entice a larger audience. Two hours before the show I'm going to send the cast out in costume to convince people to go to the show. I will do this every night until we get a full house! But i need those people at the desks, any volunteers? (please please please!) 9.) SONGS Shelly (and Jay actually...) I've edited those songs and they sound excellent on the computer but the moment i put them on cd they skip to fuck. Is it because i set the burn speed to low or what? Any advice? Anyway, i've got every track done and i think the cast will need a bit of preping on Sunday. Thanks Shelly. 10.) MAKE UP I've fucked up in this department and don't have anything ready? Would it be possible for the female cast to do their own make up and then for them to show the males how to do it? Yeah? No? 11.) TODAYS 1st RUN THROUGH Okay, i'm doing this scene by scene... PROLOGUE- Fairy needs practice with the sfx (although it was your first time!) Fairy: you need to make conscience movements on stage. Either decide to stand rooted on the spot throughout OR move around, but move around with some purpose in mind. It just looks like your lost on stage a bit... Marion (Anna) shouldn't be on the stage. The babes and Maid Marion need to enter in the correct order according to Fairys speech. Fairy, you may acknowledge the casts existance onstage by looking at them or waving towards them. SCENE 1- For the kids cue- WAIT TILL THE NARRATOR SAYS IT! Villagers need to be LOUDER and PROJECT more! You don't have the luxury of radio mikes so speak out! Emma Sothern- more ridiculous, prance around more and LEARN THE SONG! Emma- as a guard when he tells you to Kill yourself just walk offstage. Also the guards should both stand with the same posture or stance. Both arms folded or neither folded. Sheriff- Slow it down a tad. You rushed into it today just a little to quick. Maid Marion- if you fuck up don't go.."NAH! MWAH! KA! NAH!" Just continue with the script or the audience will instantly notice your mistake. The dance for 'Wanna be one of Robins men' was completely out of time and it needs serious work. SCENE 2- Sheriff- more cape and hand actions (walk move etc. That holds throughout the panto) The babes completely screwed up their cues today- learn your cues and your lines. Maid Marion promteded the Sheriffs line when he made a mistake. Shouldn't be done! The audience won't respect it. SCENE 3- Bigger presence on stage fairy. See above. Where were Marion, AMdi marion and the babes today? READ YOUR CUES!!!!! Tackle- scratch your head more and feel free to act super dope. The robing the hood dance is looking alot better but still needs alot more work. Little J- if you forget your line don't make any jokes about penises... EVER! the 'green stockings' (with hand action) won't work unless you do it in unison. Robin- learn the timing for those songs SCENE 4- Sheriff- Louder on the 'don't cha' joke Tackle forgot the handshake with Sheriff. The lines for this scene were awful, you all need to re-review them and give em a run through. SCENE 5- Niamh was ready for the entrance of Marion- even though she couldn't see her as she came on from behind you. You have to act like you don't see her as it makes it more belivable. Again, finish your lines, don't drift off into a trance of nothingness.... Sheriff- more cape SCENE 6- A louder OW! outta Tackle ACT TWO PROLOGUE & SCENE 1 - THe lines here were so unbelivably shit. EVERYBODY KEPT FUCKING IT UP. So go out and learn this shit. Titty interrupted Friar before he was finished his sentence, just watch out for it. Men in tights needs practice as does the cue straight after for the next song. LINES AFTER WE ARE FAMILY were completely forgotten about! DON'T DO THIS! SCENE 2 - Slow down people Needs to be funnier SCENE 3- Cues for Dave and Marion at end- nonononononono!!!!!!! More reaction from Maid when Dave arrives. JUmp up and hug him and cry louder etc... SCENE 4- Don't check the pictures, its not that comical. just draw the duck, it's briliant! Robin- enter quicker and TAKE CHARGE OF THE MERRY MEN! Learn what oreder your lines comein that scene Hero- started badly Ended well SCENE 5- Sheriff- Clap for Block and Tackle Cues for being attacked! Learn what lines go where. Tackle... 'emphisis' on "It Lasks a satisfactory choesion..." SCENE 6- Needs to be redone with cast! SCENE 7- EXCELLENT! REally happy with it! stuff to review...
