Plans for Orientation Week:

- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 11am to 4pm: set up stand in Hub

- the stand is just the table with flyers, sweets and the banner (if we can find a key to the store room)

- Fiona and Megan to buy sweets for the stand

- everyone wear their hoodies

- advertise Broadway at the stand: maybe put up a poster board with Broadway Baby and pictures on it

- maybe play music at the stand, but keep the videos till Clubs and Socs Day

- Yvonne to bring her scrapbook

- rota for the stand: Tuesday, 11am to 1pm: Conor, Megan and Fiona

                                                1pm to 3pm : Alan, Pauric and Brendan

                                                3pm to 4pm : Yvonne, Susan and Pauric

                                    Wednesday, 11am to 1pm : Fiona, Yvonne and Conor

                                                            1pm to 3pm : Susan D? Marko?

                                                            3pm to 4pm : Marie Claire? Dallan?

                                    Thursday, 11am to 1pm : Pauric, Susan and Conor

- Tuesday, 4pm to 5pm: workshop

- Wednesday, 4pm to 5pm: workshop

- Conor to make posters for the workshops

- the workshops can't be done in the Venue because there are builders there

- we'll just meet at the Venue and then bring them somewhere else

- give drama badges to the people who go to the workshops

- everyone to flyer Larkfield tonight

- Manhunt on Thursday

- Conor to organise the sheets to be handed out

- start it at 2pm

- who's hiding: Pauric, Conor, Susan

- prizes: make the prize a Broadway ticket?

- no, just a bottle of wine and a drama badge

- debate about the free Broadway ticket

- pros: eye-catching idea, anyone who wants to go will buy a ticket

- cons: we may make a loss

- charge €5 per raffle ticket

- vote: 5 in favour, 1 against, 2 abstentions

- decided: we're offering a free place for Broadway, telling the students that flights, accommodation and tickets are all included

 

Finalised calendar:

- Pauric got told off by Shea about the Venue

- we're not allowed to make our sets in there anymore

- let's be nice to Shea

- Semester One

- Week 1: karaoke might not happen because the SU is doing it this week

- we'll see how it goes this week and maybe do it next Wednesday if it goes well

- just straight karaoke, no theme

- Pauric to ask Shea about availability of the NuBar

- Week 5: Rocky Horror on Tuesday 23rd, Halloween Ball on Wednesday 24th

- Week 8: Pauric to try to get the LOAFS for Thursday in the Old Bar

- Yvonne to try and get Play in a Day for Monday 12th instead of Tuesday 13th                                                                                   

- the Old Bar is open to society events, like the Venue

- Week 9: Comedy Week

- Week 10: Arts Week, Stars on Tuesday in the Venue

- Pauric to try to get comedy night for Thursday in the Old Bar

- is Week 10 usually the One Act Wonder Festival?

- Susan to email One Act Wonder people to find out what the story is with the festival this year

- Week 11: panto on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

- Pauric to double check that we have the Venue on the Monday too

- book the Slipper for the Christmas party on Thursday of Week 11

- or maybe do it in Week 12?

- need to talk to Games and RedBrick first

- Semester Two

- Week 0: Broadway Baby!

- Week 2: table quiz in the Old Bar on the Wednesday

- Pauric to double check the date of the table quiz

- Week 4: Romeo and Juliet and Vagina Monologues in the Helix

- we're pencilled in, but can only book officially three months in advance

- Scrubs the musical in Week 5 possibly: how would we get backing tracks?

- Week 11: Wednesday and Thursday for the Variety Show (Wednesday for tech)

- Week 12: DADAs on the Monday

 

Broadway:

- $5,226 is the cost of accommodation in the hostel

- Pauric and Jenni to try and meet up with Joey on Sunday at 6pm

 

Chair's address to committee:

- Drama needs to gain a better reputation, let's get rid of the idea of 'cliques'

- should get involved with more societies (maybe Style Soc could do costumes for shows…)

- punctuality and going to all the shows are important

- people need to tell others if they're stressed out

- we're gonna have a fantastic year! :)
