Hi Maeve,

I regret that neither the professional or amateur rights are available for SPRING AWAKENING yet, but if you're interested in a license to stage this show in the future then you can certainly register your interest and we'll contact you as soon as licensing can commence. However I'm not sure that DCU Drama Society would qualify for a professional licence as I doubt that you would be paying your performers a salary.

Maeve McQuillan, Secretary of DCU Drama here. I have a few questions for you re: obtaining performance rights for Sheik and Sater's musical, Spring Awakening.

Is there any information available about the rights of this musical?

Are either amateur or professional rights available for performance, or are they expected to be in time for April next year? We have a slot in the theatre for a week's run from the 4th-9th of April, 2010.

Could you also inform me about whether or not other performance companies in the same region have applied for the amateur or the professional rights for Spring Awakening, and therefore, if rights were to become available (before November, perhaps), would we be the first company to be allocated the rights?

We are based in Glasnevin, a suburb just north-west of Dublin city.

Any information on the release of either amateur or professional rights would be appreciated.
