Enough already. Yesterday was a minor blip...some stuff happened that wasn't scheduled to happen but that's circumstance... Joey, please, please, please, please, re-consider your decision. Your contribution to this year's success can NOT be underestimated. Please have a think about this Joey... We're DRAMA- stuff like this shouldn't affect us...Let's move on...Let's go to Cork tomorrow...Let's bring home another fucking trophy... Having just read Steve's email,
I agree that the Bannonne was out of order at the meeting, and one reason that I didn't shout back up at her was so that the entire AGM didn't degenerate into a screaming match. Which it did anyway, sort of. *sighs again*

Oh god.
First off, I would like to say the following regarding Joey's decision not to run for ctte next year.
PLEASE don't let last night's kerfuffle put you off! You're a very strong committee member, a hard worker, a good friend and top class at what you do. I hereby beg you to reconsider...
Dave, the committee has the ultimate respect for you.
We also know exactly what Roisin is like, and therefore can safely ignore her. She's loud, extremely opinionated and very outspoken. And she loves to slag people. Who doesn't? I will readily admit that the bulk of her slagging is aimed at you - the two of you will never see eye to eye, I fear. Should she attend the rescheduled AGM, I would propose that we issue a warning to her should she start mouthing off again (about anyone, not just you). Might I also remind you that you publicly slagged a committee member over his/her dedication in front of the AGM. People are entitled to their opinions, no matter how inappropriate they are perceived to be.
Dave, you're a very good friend, and if I thought that there was anything malicious or downright vicious in the comments made by Roisin at the AGM, I would have admonished her. We all engaged in a bit of slagging at the AGM (how many times were the words "your ma's cock" used?). I do agree that pointed, personal insults are out of order though.
I agree with you that the committee need to show a bit more solidarity, and that my chairing of the AGM was substandard. I apologise profusely to you all. The AGM has been the only event that DCU Drama have held this year I am not proud of. *sighs*
As for the logistics and whatnot, here's my thoughts...
Hindsight being 20-20 vision, yes the position of Training Officer should have been discussed at committee level. What we have to do now (seeing as what's done is done) is sit down and define exactly what it is that officer should do (Elaine sent a fairly comprehensive suggestion to the announce drama list). We, and the new ctte have all summer to do that, assuming that we elect a training officer next week.
The first two positions elected were achieved while we had a quorum of voters - I see no reason to recall those two positions. I do realise that there was the whole thing about people voting and then leaving. Grrrr.
The question is: Do we announce the winners to the announce-drama list, OR do we wait until the entire ctte has been elected?
I realise that should we re-hold the elections for those two positions, the same two people will probably get in. In my opinion, that's another reason not to have a re-vote - it'll waste time. There's nothing in the Drama constitution that states the committee has to be all elected at a single meeting, so I don't see why it's a problem.
I sincerely hope that the events that transpired yesterday will not put off anyone from their original intention of running for committee - we have had a record year, and I'd hate to see Drama fall on its arse next year because of this.
With that in mind, it is my opinion that Tuesday, 6 or 7pm is no good for the following reasons:
Alan Keegan, who has expressed great interest in running for Tech Officer, will be operating tech for the Choral Showcase.
Joe Murray will be there also.
Susan Bourke, who has expressed great interest in running for Secretary, will be performing at the showcase.
If Music Soc have their way, there will be a performance from Guys and Dolls, thereby stealing many cast members from the musical. And you can say what you like about the musical, be it good or bad, but without musical cast members yesterday, we would never have achieved quorum. Bugger. And there's a few in that cast that rumour has it are thinking of running - Mark, Susan Doyle & Liana, to name three.
The showcase starts at 8pm Tuesday night - how does 5pm Tuesday sound? If this is done right, we'll be outta there within 45 mins.
In other news, I would like to suggest that those of us going to Cork tomorrow bring a Reservoir Dogs black & white type suit for the formal dinner, a la Macbeth last year. Fuck yeah!
Finally, without fear of getting weepy (again!) I would like to say that it has been a magical year working, playing, laughing and having fun with all of you guys. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
Thank you all for making my life a whole lot happier *cries* (goddammit!)\

I agree with Dave. Joey i think its a terrible shame that you aren't running and i do hope you'll reconsider.
As for those taunts Dave i have to be honest and say that i didn't hear anything said when you said you couldn't run for chair. My apologies about the mix up with the ballot papers. I'm a tithead. But as soon as you started to do that i left the room because i had to be back in time for the show and at that point it was 7.30 so i heard none of this abuse and i'm now very curious as to what lil shit felt they had the right to shout random abuse. It can be fine if its a little bit of banter but this doesn't seem to be the case and thats just not on. May i suggest a formal waring to this person if they turn up at the next AGM. Something has to be said about it. You can't just let something like that go and i can see why you felt you didn't have the backing of committee. Its all fine and well me saying that i would have said something if i was there but i wasn't so that doesn't matter. The point is I believe this person should be warned and if they do not adhere to the warning in the next AGM then expulsion from the meeting is the only answer I believe.
Thats my 2 cents worth anywho

Sorry to reply again, but I left out a critical point;
Joey, I honestly think that you should run for committee. You have impressed me no end this year, and I think if you decided not to run it would be a terrible loss for drama. Please reconsider your decision. I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say that yor level headedness will be a major asset to DCU Drama next year.

I just wanna apologise for interrupting Dave when he was speaking today. I know there's no excuse for that kind of behaviour but I was
just getting a bit frustrated that we were spending so much time discussing Elaine's proposal.
I've also made the decision not to run for committee next year. I know there's no real need to announce this in a committee e-mail but I just didn't want people to be surprised when I don't go forward next week.
