Hey guys,
I'm not 100% sure if I'll make the meeting on Monday (I'll do my best
though) so I just wanted to give ye a quick update on the situation
with ISDA:
1. A constitutional amendment was approved today whereby, if any member
college misses two or more meetings in a given academic year without
sending apologies, they will forefeit there *automatic* right to a spot
in the festival. Further applications to participate in that year's
festival will be subject to review. This new rule is effective as of
the 1st January 2006.
2. This year's festival looks set to take place the week after St.
Patrick's week. We need to start looking for accomodation in Cork. Any
ideas, Eoin? As ordinary members, we are entitled to one slot in the
festival (All My Sons? Merchant of Venice? something else?). Executive
members are entitled to two (although this will be subject to review at
the next meeting) and any other available slots are then allocated by
lottery.
3. UCD are holding an ISDA funded weekend workshop thingy on the 24th,
25th February. It should cost about €20 per person in total and sounds
pretty good. Aoife from UCD is gonna forward us on the provisional
details tomorrow. There's also gonna be an official ISDA
careers-in-theatre themed day, more than likely on Saturday, the 18th
of Feruary (which by my calculations is slap, bang between All My Sons
and Merchant of Venice).
4. A new Treasurer was elected today - balding Ed from Trinners.
5. The next meeting is being held on the 28th of January (two days
before Broadway :D) in Cork and it's asked that all colleges bring
along their tech people (Eoghan? Jay?) as we'll be visiting the three
venues for the festival and it'll be an opportunity to suss out the
building specs.
Hope ye're all enjoying your weekends,
Joey
