Hey All! Just a few things to keep you guys busy! Attatched is my initial list of contacts for sponsorship - its growing everyday! Please, add to it over the summer or whenever and mail it on to me! Any extra contacts you have would be fantabulous! Also - I saw this in a theatre book and thought it might be appropriate for our handbook (probably with a few changes!) - its a list of marketing stuff to do before a production. Obviously it might not be exactly how we do things at DCU Drama - but I thought it would be a good template to work from! Joey and Liana let me know what you think! How Long before the First night What to do One year to go find sponsorship Six months to go Find a Printer - choose a design or image Three months to go Print posters and leaflets - start to build a press list Two months to go Send out a press release - distribute posters and leaflets make the society aware of the production - offer priority booking Six weeks to go Call the press contacts with ideas for stories Get the adverts designed - design the programme One month to go Start advertising - get programme printed Two weeks to go Check ticket sales - promote tickets One week to go Call the press and make sure they are coming to the show On the night pamper the sponsors and the press - hand out questionaires and marketing forms start to think about the next show Not sure how helpful that is - but its straight out of a book! Spoke to Una at the Helix today - Tara Nolan has the bookings for next year definitely - and she'll ring me back later today with the dates!
