Hey guys,

Two important complaints have come to my attention...

1.) Sean Kennedy was unhappy with the way the director for the panto was selected. He felt that he had an unfair chance and that he didn't get the opportunity to speak his case. I explained to Sean that the main reason why we went with Padraig was to give a first-time director a chance to do something and also to rope in the freshers. He was still not pleased about the way it was conducted. He said he still wants to do things with Drama this year but he feels a little let down by the conduct of the committee.

2.) Jason Fallon was unhappy that as producer he felt that he was bypassed in the selection of who should MC the Stars in Their Eyes. He said he wasn't unhappy with the people picked, he had no problem with the selection, but he did feel that he should of had a say in it considering he was the producer.

My opinion....

I think both are fair points. Sean's argument is disputable due to the situation whereas Jay's point is a bit more serious. I think that possibly we need to step back more as a committee and allow the producers of a show to organize and decide everything. That's why they're producers. Also its a load of our backs organization wise...

I think its something we should watch out for in future and maybe discuss up in the next meeting. Just though I'd give you the heads up.

Thanks guys, (thanks john... and everyone else wonders what we're talking about...)

P.S. I'd like to emphasize that these complaints were said to me in private and that this is a committee issue and should not have to come up with Sean or Jay or anyone else. (I know it won't, but just in case) Also, I'd like to emphasize more that Jay defiantly has no problem with the MC's for the Stars, but should Eoin Byrne not do it I suggest we allow Jay and Liana decide... but we'll discuss that later... and I'm starting to write a second e-mail so I should go...
