EGM:

- Monday at 7pm in CG12

- Pauric to send out an announce drama tonight about the EGM

- set up a stand in the Hub between 4pm and 6pm before the meeting

- sell raffle tickets and promote the EGM at the stand

- have a bit of music playing

- Alan, Conor, Megan and Fiona to mind the stand

- committee to meet between 6pm and 7pm in CG12

- sell tickets before the meeting while people are getting settled down

- Alan to hand out the membership cards at the beginning of the meeting

- Megan to organise sheets where people can write down what they're interested in

- include dance, tech, set, producing, directing, etc.

- pass it around at the beginning of the meeting and pick it up again at the end

- show clips from Six Semesters and last year's drama video first

- Conor to sort out the projector and cable

- discussion of roles on committee, short and sweet

- plans for the year, each committee member gets a bit to say

- sort out who's saying what before the meeting starts

- say that we're particularly looking for producers for the musical

- it's a lot of hard work but it's really rewarding

- shouldn't be first years, need experience

- Tech Officer to be elected

- First Year Rep to be elected

- Broadway raffle, get Cian to pick the name out or else some random first year, or maybe the First Year Rep

- Broadway places will be picked out of a hat

- everyone who is going into the hat has to have the €200 with them

- heading to the nuBar afterwards

- Pauric to ask nuBar about catering, maybe spend €50

Calendar:

- Pauric has the calendar on his USB key

- the musical is Week 9 of Semester 2

- Yvonne to try and change Play in a Day from Tuesday 13th to Monday 12th of Week 8

- it will cost €2 to go and see the Play in a Day

- don't want to charge money into the weekly workshops

- want to move the LOAFS to Thursday of Week 8 and comedy night to Thursday of Week 10

- hopefully the Masquerade Ball will be in Week 3 or 4 of Semester Two, but still need to talk to Style Soc, will put in another grant app for that later

- Pauric to talk to Shea tomorrow

Update on projector screen:

- projector costs €5000

- screens cost €6000

- Pauric was talking to someone who made the screens themselves

- it shouldn't be a cost for drama only because it will be permanently in the Venue so other societies could use it too

- maybe the SU would go in with us on it

- might need to do a bag pack for it

- without getting a projector screen we will have to rent sets

- Jenni says there's nowhere really to rent them in Ireland, we would have to rent them from somewhere in England

Update on AIB sponsorship:

- AIB gave us €1000 for the panto

- just going to call it general funding

- didn't want to do full year's sponsorship

- they don't want to be associated with anything dirty like Full Monty or Best Little Whorehouse

Musical – producers:

- if we don't get producers then the committee will have to do it

- bring it up at the EGM

- will make a definite decision by next Friday

Musical – venue, St Pat's?:

- St Pat's students can be members of DCU societies this year

- they have a decent theatre and a good backstage

- if we got Pat's involved it would be far less expensive than the Helix

- but the Helix gets so much publicity

- the Helix is a better location too, DCU students wouldn't go all the way to Pat's

- might be worth looking into

Musical – set:

- the stage in the Helix is huge

- we would be lost on the stage without a set

- we're going to have to rent some sort of set

- the projectors from Rocky Horror cost €600

- but would they cover the stage sufficiently?

- they might look a bit weird as a set

- Megan's brother works in timber but we won't get funding

- Megan to talk to her brother to see if we might get it sponsored

- we should talk to Cian because he's our rep

- we have the same problem for the panto

- could we get a huge sheet and paint it as a backdrop?

- but we would need a proper stage curtain really

- Jenni to look into curtains

- Pauric to talk to Lisa about using the USIT office as storage space

- Conor to look into Rent-a-Space places

- Jenni to put down set rental on the grant app for the moment

Workshops in set or tech?:

- Yvonne to talk to Jay about organising a tech workshop

- Yvonne to talk to Shea about booking the Venue for tech workshop

- Yvonne to book the Interfaith for this Tuesday's workshop

LOAFS – any plays lined up?:

- Susan has one

- Alan Flanagan has one

- Conor, Stephen Grimes, Joey Kavanagh and Eoin O'Neill are interested too

- auditions will be in Week 4

- mention that we're looking for plays for the LOAFS at the EGM

Stars in Their Eyes – with or without MPS?:

- MPS are holding an EGM at 7pm on Wednesday in CG86

- we'll find out after that meeting whether they will be a society or not

- Alan and Megan would like to produce Stars, yay!

- auditions will be in Week 4

Website licence:

- payment for rental on www.dcudrama.ie

- costs about €100, due around December

Sexy sketching models for Shag Week:

- the SU want nude models for Shag Week: em, no…

- but maybe people would be willing to pose in underwear for a sketching session

- it would be in a closed room

- drama people are more likely to do it than most!

- Shag Week is in Week 4

- Pauric to add it to the announce drama

Get Alan off the mailing list:

- Pauric and Conor to sort that out

Chair's address to the committee:

- Pauric was disappointed with our performance on the Clubs and Socs Days

- we didn't have energy or bounce L

- but we can move forward from this

- let's be big and loud and boisterous, because we're drama! JJJJJ

AOB:

- One Act Wonder Festival: if we offer to hold the festival we want it in Week 9

- meeting organised for next Thursday at 7pm, just waiting to hear back from SPD and DIT

- ISDA: meeting today was cancelled, apparently there's a meeting at 3pm next Saturday in UCD

- drama blurb, auditions in Week 4

- Susan to book five rooms in the Henry Grattan, probably CG01 to CG05

- auditioning Stars, Romeo and Juliet, LOAFS and panto

- Tuesday 6pm-8pm (including warm up workshop), Wednesday 2pm-6pm , Thursday 6pm-8pm

- announce drama: Pauric should send it around to the committee before sending it out to the membership, just in case we want to add more stuff

- have to buy the Aladdin script this week, will cost €50

- we won't say the First Year Rep is directing the panto until we check him/her out

Next meeting: 7pm , Monday, October 15th, 2007
