[Drama-Committee] Announce drama
Hello Guys, The following e-mail may contain information of a dramatic nature........you have been warned!! *Auditions:* ** If you still havent auditioned for anything,or just havent found the right show for you, worry not,we will be having another massive week of auditions this week. *DISCO PIGS AUDITIONS:* Joey Kavanagh will be holding auditions for a production of Disco Pigs, which is likely to take place at the beginning of Semester Two. Auditions will take place on Wednesday and Thursday from 6-8 in CG04. The play revolves around the intense relationship of two teenage protagonists, Darin and Sinead, nicknamed "Pig" and "Runt". Pig and Runt were born at the same hospital at nearly the same time and grow up right next door to each other, forming a very close relationship that borders on telepathic. The two talk in their own idiosyncratic "language" and live in their own separate world, barely communicating with the world around them. However, in there seventeenth year, their world is breached by an outsider, triggering an irreversible chain of events that will ultimately end in tragedy. For further info, please e-mail joeykavanagh@gmail.com *Stars In Their Eyes:* On Monday, the final "Stars in Their Eyes" auditions will be held between 3-4 in CG2.Come one, come all and blow us away with your amazing vocal talents!! *One Acts:* Alan Flanaghan and Olena Ripnick will also be holding auditions for their One Acts. These will be taking place on *Tuesday,6-8 and Wednesday,2-6 in rooms CG2-3*.If you havent acted before,or wish to get back into the swing of things I would strong recommend you come down to these auditions. ** *Workshops:* ** This week DCU Drama will be holding its first professional workshop.Withinthis workshop we will be learning about the art of improv. We will be meeting on *Monday at 7;15 in the Venue*, which is just next to the NuBar. With an intervarsity between the biggest college's in Ireland due to take place the next couple of weeks, this is a chance for us to see the quality that we know we have within our ranks. For those who have very little experience(like me),this is also a great chance to develop one's dramatic skills. The following week we will be getting in Liam Halighan, the highly regarded Gaeity School of Acting teacher, who will lead a number of workshops which will eventually cultivate in "Play in a Day". These workshops are a *must *for all those interested in getting involved with DCU Drama for the first time:) ** ** *Callbacks:* ** Last week saw record numbers of people audition for the Xmas Panto.Sadly we could not call you all back due to weight restrictions in the Venue....... Thanks to all those auditioned,it was extremely hard for Marian and Niamh to cut down the numbers and if you are not included in the following list;dont get too upset, the producers of the show will be contacting people at a later date for chorus work..
