[Drama-Committee] So here it is Merry Christmas...
Guys, gotta send this soon so people can e-mail Joey about tickets for Nightmare... Does anything need to be added? Steve **************************** Tis the season to be jolly... FLA LA LA LA LA... LA LA LA LA! =) Drama have a peacefully quiet week planned as we know most of you are beginning to stress over the impossible workloads that await you this Christmas Holiday break! * A Nightmare Before Christmas * Overdue Congratulations * Panto Aftermath A Nightmare Before Christmas As some of you are probably aware, our lovely PRO, Liana, is staging her directorial début, a stage adaptation of 'A Nightmare Before Christmas', in the Mill Theatre in Dundrum next week. Liana and Co. have worked tirelessly on this production for months and it promises to be a fantastic show. We've booked twenty tickets for the Monday night performance at the reduced price of €8 and there are still a limited number remaining. Anybody who wants to book a ticket please e-mail our Treasurer, Joey, at treasurer@dcudrama.ie Tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Anybody coming to the show should meet in the Hub at 6:15 on Monday evening. Overdue Congratulations I posted these on the life forum but forgot to send it in an announce drama... As most of you know, we brought several shows down to the "One Act Wonder Festival" and received several awards. So massive congratulations to the following... *****Best Original Script * - "If this is the Afterlife, I want my Old Job Back" written by the beautiful Susan Bourke! *"Alas Poor Yorick" for death on stage * - "If this is the Afterlife, I want my Old Job Back" * "Most Ludicrous Premise" * - "A Murder Mystery with the Exception of the Script" written by the talented Eoin O'Neill! *"The lets up the rating to R" award * - Nobody Famous, directed by the stylishly sexy Joey Kavanagh! Well Done to all the cast and thanks to everybody who went down to show their support! ** Panto Aftermath As most of know, the pantomime was a massive success and got great reviews everywhere. Of course this couldn't be accomplished without the work of some amazing people. Congratulations to all the cast and crew for their hard work and special thanks to Gary Boylan (for designing the epic poster) and to Robin Cafolla (for being an absolute legend) as we forgot to thank them on the night (runs and hides under desk). Also a huge thank you to all those who took the time out to man the ticket stands, your help was extremely appreciated! Massive congratulations to all the production team, to choreographer Aisling O'Flanagan and of course to first time director Pauric Carroll. I think its fair to say that everybody really enjoyed the show and that it wouldn't of happened without the hours of dedication put in by both Pauric and Aisling. We may even forgive the fact that Pauric is from Cavan... actually no... there's no forgiving that... =) Any photos of the panto or any other drama event PLEASE e-mail them to Conor at dramaphotos@gmail.com as he now has the time to post them considering the panto is finally over! Lastly - you'll all be glad to hear. The panto raised €400 for SVP, as well as catering for tons of free tickets to the matinee show for SVP children, who loved all of it and even began to sing along to "Time of my life" at the end of the show! I almost cried... in a manly way of course... That said- I'm going to leave it at that... Merry Christmas everybody! Steve -- Stephen Grimes AP2 Rep DCU Drama Chair 085 7079768 55456550
