DRAMA MEETING: 27TH FEBRUARY 2006 Present: Bob, Dave, Charlie, Eoghan, Joe M, Joe K, Shelly, Steve, Eoin. Apologies: Shane. (1) Last week's minutes… (2) Fiddler on the Roof…Steve with booking: cheapest tickets-Friday 7th April: 6pm showing between 17:50 or 8pm at 22:50…more than 20 in a group rate then 10 per cent off. Possible week of the musical: could be subject to change…Week 8 currently for the musical: could be changed to Week 9. Theatre trip for Monday of Week 9…? Passed!!! (3) Elaine Bannon and Marie-Louise' little project. Idea for vocal chorus for 50 people…in communication with Elaine about it. Tuesday 5pm next week for general members meeting where Marie-Louise will speak about the project. Meeting idea passed!!! (4) Elaine's letter…some good points raised. We have done workshops and there's more to come…more visible to membership? Can we do more? Active membership versus inactive membership…? (5) Joe K: Dara and DLI…All My Sons- we didn't have the rights to perform All My Sons in The Venue...we admitted it and we accepted that we owe the rights…sent the e-mail to UCC who said they didn't receive it but we ARE in! One extra slot for a second place at ISDA…we were drawn third in the lottery for the extra slot. We won't get Saturday for our slot as CIT and DIT have applied and they probably will get preference. The Play's The Thing probably won't get the chance to get down there…we should send down a show though…to at least to show our face! We need cheques for bills and rights and stuff…where's Shane? (6) Rights for Tape and My Mother Said…Dave producing Tape. May be difficult for us to get the rights for Tape as it's so recent and so obscure. 90 euro for My Mother Said…per performance. Eoin to get in touch with DLI about Tape and The Helix with regard to ticket feedback for Merchant…with Shane. (7) Dave and piano…clashes with bookings for our piano in the Interfaith with a random ex-Musical Director…we have sorted it out. Have we been given a budget to buy a keyboard: 250 euro? Look into this…Shane again? (8) Table quiz for Wednesday this week…not logistical as it happened. Things like this have to be passed through committee…MPS and MSW are doing their quizzes this week…Arrgh! We're doing this with good preparation and proper prizes, etc: we'll do this properly or not do it at all. It's a REALLY big event…we have to put on a show…flashy prizes. Dave was put down as producer…he's got an idea for this quiz…format: Wikipedia have the answers: the Up to 11 table quiz? 8 rounds…11 questions…it's gradual…as the questions go on, they get harder and worth more points…as many 11's right as possible then we get spot prizes!! Hooray! Motion passed! (9) Tech workshop: 3pm, hour long. Sound workshop. Bit of a mix-up. (10) Bui-Bolg…Thursday 5pm for rehearsal. Venue: TBC. Go ahead… (11) Shelly: St. Michael's House: Meeting tomorrow about it…fine to organise it. A plan for next week from Shelly about that production. (12) The Musical!!! Half the cast at rehearsals tonight…where were the girls? Frustration with Olga and Alan? Can we stop it or do something about it? Confusion over rehearsal timetable…do we have to keep reminding them that they're in the show?? More threatening? The committee haven't been very helpful about the musical according to the producers…a fair point. We can help out more…show more solidarity? Certainly…point taken. Bob (as rep) to meet with the producers tomorrow about all things nice, etc. If there is a busy period when committee members can't make meetings then Dave can chair the meeting…to improve regularity of communication. Eoghan won't be there for Week 9…awww. (13) The Helix staff…formal complaint. To have a sit down meeting with staff…Eoin and Shane to sit down with Una with regard to Helix. Righty, guys and girl, Sorry yet again for my absence last night, as we could have, for possibly the first time ever, had a full committee present last night. Now, for more pressiong issues: 1. RE: ISDA, have cheque for joey, re rights all my sons. just waiting for a signature, baby! 2. RE: Merchant, give us a shout when ya want to arrange a meeting with una, re helix. also of extreme importance, what did we take in over the 6 shows. I am holdong off submitting the receipts for mov for a wee while, as we have not spent near our allocation. So if you have reciepts dated roughly from mid jan to last week, then give em to me, and i might be able to use them. Unethical, yep, but, i want to get a much dosh as possible for us. 3.RE KEYBOARD, we have been allocated a measly €100 by the spc for a keyboard, hardly sufficient, i know. We can reapply, as the spc does have a bit of extra cash floating about, and i want much of it as possible for drama!!! i dont care if im being greedy, selfish, whatever... on that point, as there is extra floating about, it had been propsed to try and get the theatre for the musical, but the only available dates are 3 days in week 10, therefore, could we get some quotes on a new set, Eoghan? as, ihave heard from a reliable source that we will probably get funding for it,yayness!! 4. On another, less happy note, only 4 of 39 ppl have paid for hoodies.aghhhhh. i would advise an email be sent aout to address this problem. I know that we had 60 days to pay, but there aint no sign of anybody else coughin up the cash!!!!! so please send out a bloody email. Thank you. 5.hmmm, i forgot what else i wanted to say, maybe ill remember later, On 28/02/06, Roibeard O Mhurcu <dramabob@gmail.com> wrote:
