Hey guys, Just wanted to give y'all a quick update on the trip to Broadway. I've sent off cheques this week to cover the cost of forty tickets to 'The Producers' for the Wednesday night and also to cover the remainder of the cost of accommodation. The only thing that remains to be sorted now is the metro cards for travel within New York. So far, we have had three drop-outs from the original forty. Anna Lawlor is replacing Carol Fanning. Dearbhla McCreesh is replacing Rebecca Meehan. Louise Guyett has also dropped out. So far, I've contacted three people on the list in relation to this. One replied and said she was going on the snowboarding trip but the two others made no contact at all. Looking through the remainder of the list, I realised that only two people, Fiona Carty and Garret Rogers, have been active within the society this semester. Considering how the importance of contributing to the society was clearly emphasised to all prospective Broadway-comers at the EGM, I decided that it might be best to give preference to these two individuals. John McKeown contacted Fiona Carty this evening and she said that she is still interested in coming on the trip. At least one committee member has expressed concern that a decision was made to offer this position to Fiona instead of people who were in the queue ahead of her at the EGM without being brought to a committee vote. Thus, in the interest of fairness and transparency, I'd like to call for a committee vote on this matter. Since there are no committee meetings scheduled at present, plus the fact that I'd like this issue to be resolved ASAP to save hassle with name-changes for the accommodation and flights, I suggest that all committee members e-mail Steve a vote before midnight on Saturday. Whereby... Yes indicates that you feel active drama members should be given priority to any vacant spots that arise No indicates that you feel that members should be offered vacant spots in accordance with the original numerical order. One more thing, Lyndsey, Eoin & John, can you confirm by tomorrow night whether or not you're coming to see Liana's play on Monday. Thanks. Have a great weekend, Joey
