[Drama-Committee] Guess what?
You betcha, it's the minutes! And also, I just want to say thanks so much for my nomination, guys, I'm so happy about it, thanks a million! Susan :-) DCU DRAMA COMMITTEE MEETING * * *Agenda: **Monday, March 3rd, 2008*** * * * * - Ratification of last meeting's minutes - Any matters arising from the minutes - Musical update - Attendance at meetings - Rights for Disco Pigs - Proceeds of Alan Flanagan's play - Sets - Six Semesters premiere - Report from ISDA meeting/ISDA nominations - Clubs and Socs Awards nominations - AOB *Musical update:* - Pauric asked John last week to come to this meeting, but he's not here - all feedback seems to be positive anyway - we just need more sponsorship *Attendance at meetings:* - little bit lower this semester than last semester - definite time for meetings: 6:45pm every Monday *Rights for Disco Pigs:* - Joey is having trouble getting the rights from DLI - it will be okay to put it on in the Venue without the rights, but if it goes on in the Space or in the ISDA competition Joey will have to get the rights *Proceeds of Alan Flanagan's play:* - Alan wants some of the proceeds of A Theory of Everything to go to charity - as long as Drama isn't in debt, it shouldn't be a problem, but it depends on how successful Fame is financially - we will review it after the two productions are over *Sets:* - we have four shows coming up that need a substantial set: Snow White, Disco Pigs, A Theory of Everything, Forbidden - we will get in contact with Strahan Timber about wood, because they supplied boards to Art *Six Semesters premiere:* - John McKeown is having a test screening this Wednesday, with a possible premiere in Week 10 - he wants to screen it in the Venue or T101 - putting it in the Venue takes away a night from Robin's play, so it depends on what Robin says *- Pauric and Declan to meet with John to discuss the details* *Report from ISDA meeting/ISDA nominations:* - Pauric went to the ISDA meeting on Saturday and found out that the nominations had to be in this morning at 9am - the vote happened over the weekend: A Theory of Everything and The Woods (previously Snow White) will be entered, with Disco Pigs as a reserve in case we get a third slot - venues: DIT Black Box, Samuel Beckett Theatre, the Cube, the New Theatre - times: 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm - Pauric wants Wednesday or Thursday at 2pm for The Woods, but we're not sure about when Alan wants his play performed, we will have to wait and find out if we've got the times we want - four judges will give a twenty minute critique after each performance - there are 22 slots, 2 for each of the eleven colleges entered - the two tier system has been scrapped - the awards ceremony will be at 9pm on Sunday - we could arrange a theatre trip for our members to go to a show other than our own - we've been asked if we can supply a tech person for the week, Declan is willing to do it, and maybe Doireann and Alan as well *Clubs and Socs Awards nominations:* - Pauric is declining his First Five nomination because he doesn't feel that he would be as happy about it if he got it as someone else who might get it - people nominated last week: Niamh Maher, Susan Doyle, Alan McHale, John Cannon, Pauric Carroll, Jenni Tweed, Brendan O'Rourke, Susan Bourke - people nominated this week: Stephen Grimes, Alan Keegan - Pauric is taking his name off the list - neither Brendan nor Niamh were ever on committee - Jenni thinks Alan wouldn't like to be on the list - Steve hasn't done as much this year - down to Susan Doyle, Alan McHale, John Cannon, Jenni Tweed, Susan Bourke - nominated: Susan Bourke *AOB:* - Clubs and Socs Awards: they're nice but let's not get too excited about them, we've had a fantastic year whether we win or not *Next meeting: **6:45pm**, **Monday, March 10th, 2008***
