*1. Sound: [A-1] A TAPE RECORDER IS Turned on. Some papers are Shuffled.*

*2. DR LUCINDA GREY: [PAUSE]. Case number 5421. Present are Dr. Lucinda Grey, client Peter Boyle and Garda Albert Brookes. The date is 21 **st** of December and the time is now [BEAT] 15:03. [PAUSE] Now Peter, let's begin. My name is Dr. Lucinda Grey. Do you know why I'm here? *

*3. **Peter BOYLE:** Yes, they told me you were coming. You're here to assess me, to see what kind of person I am. Tell me, Doctor, what was it…*

*X. DR. LUCINDA GREY: Grey. *

*3. **Peter BOYLE:** Tell me, Doctor Grey, who are you to assess me? *

*4. DR. LUCINDA GREY: I'm not here to assess you, Peter and I'm not here to evaluate or measure you. There's no pass or fail on this. I'm just here to ask you a few questions, to better understand some of the things that happened. When I'm finished I'll be preparing a report for the court. *

*5. PETER BOYLE: Will you be making recommendations?*

*X. DR. LUCINDA GREY: No, Peter, I won't. I'll be called as a witness, where I'll present my findings. It's up to the jury to interpret those findings as directed by the judge. *

*But don't worry about that for the moment. Let's start, shall we? ... I'd like to begin by recapping certain aspects of the case, for example, how you got caught. Can you take me through that briefly? *

*X. PETER BOYLE: It's cold in here. My feet are freezing. *

*X. DR. LUCINDA GREY: [to Guard Brookes]. Can you do something about the heat?*

*[Guard Brookes leaves the room] *

*X. PETER BOYLE: The guards are real arseholes, especially that one. Fucking dull bastards. Sheep. [Lowers voice] You're very pretty, do you know that? *

*X. DR. LUCINDA GREY: Let's just concentrate on the case for the moment, Peter, shall we? Can you tell me briefly how you were eventually caught? *

*X. PETER BOYLE: You should know this, Dr Grey. I've told those apes a hundred times. I'm sure they've written it down somewhere. Even they could manage that.*

*X. DR. LUCINDA GREY: I know that Peter, I have read the transcripts but I'd like you to tell me. I'd like to hear it from you. *

*X. PETER BOYLE: [exasperated] Jesus. *

*X. DR. LUCINDA GREY: Peter. Just a brief account. Please.*
