[Drama-committee] And so on...
I'm dumbfounded by this recent wave of communication within the society through the committee list...(clambers on to bandwagon)...So I had to throw in something myself, inbetween learning lines for "Someone..." - Paul has the right idea and I completely endorse his views and any other haircare products he may or may not wish to promote; let's not take it too seriously and remember that we're all working towards the same goals. SCORE. Just for the sake of the entertainment and, dare I say it, drama, that this Macbeth debate is causing, I'll chuck in my two cents: nobody's discouraging the guy or completely ruling out the idea, and everyone would love to see dcu drama put on a good production of a Shakespearian tragedy. The caution (in certain cases, eyebrows raised to physically incredulous heights) expressed is proof that it's being taken seriously - to treat it light-heartedly and 'just have a go at it' is to demean and ridicule the guy - it's a huge undertaking that demands a lot of thought and discussion and planning (God almighty, I can't believe I'm actually advocating the buraucracy of the society...) before any action is taken. There's no point in putting a lot of work into something when there is little possibilty of success - if directors and actors (especially Freshers) are working in a failing production, it is not enjoyable and it is not worth doing; it turns people off drama and causes more problems than it's worth. Which is why it needs to be treated very cautiously - it's such a demanding play on all fronts, that if there are any additional major obstacles (lack of quality actors, directors, time, commitment - the problems that have surfaced so far this term), it makes the situation untenable.
