Hello fine Committee folk.. I strongly agree with the issues raised by Pauric and Conor. Especially Conors last point about people out to make a profit. Which unfortunately seems to be the case. Dont talk about any of this outside of committee emails and meetings. Please. Just dont. John Donnelly wants to fund this himself. He wants to take the "financial risk" and go with it. This is immediately worrying as if this happens, That would put him in total control. Where as before we hired him to work for us, to do the show we had chosen. This situation would unfortunately be quite the contrary. I hate to say it but it seems to be bordering on exploitation. Donnelly needs to come to our committee meeting on Monday for a Q&A session. Maybe at 6 so we can address this first and then move on to other stuff. Ger I think this phone call needs to come from you as chair. I will be talking to him today and I will mention it to him as well. There is a mountain of stuff to ask!.. and as pauric said it seems strange that the committee has not been approached at all. Ticket prices, dates, no. of shows, how this will be publicised (MCDApparently), Belfast seem to be doing it the same time, Do we have the rights or will the Olympia look after it, AIMS, Is it under our banner as DCU Drama.. so many questions need answering and sooner rather than later.. So think of what you can for Monday and Ger will you get onto him? Hey Guys, I was wondering if the committee could get a chance to talk about this amongst themselves, I know that I haven`t a notion what is going on. Perhaps we could talk about it at six and get john in at seven, or what ever time suits but I do agree with Ed that we need to talk to JD. In regards to talking about committee matters outside of emails, I think we have all learned the mess that lands everyone. Pauric 2009/4/18 Ed Leamy <ed@leamy.net>
