[Drama-Committee] Fwd: Drama Grant Application
---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Joey Kavanagh <joeykavanagh@gmail.com> Date: Apr 24, 2007 8:55 PM Subject: Drama Grant Application To: clubssocietiesfinance@dcu.ie Hi, I know it's kinda late in the day but I wanted in to send in one last grant application in relation to two different events. The first of these is The DCU Drama Variety Show. This was held on Thursday of week 11 and was intended as a showcase for the ample talents of our lovely members. The costs were as follows: Sound and technical rental: €200 Set and stage decoration: €50 Posters: €7 Total funding sought: €257 The other event for which we're seeking funding is the DCU Annual Drama Awards, which were held on the Monday of Week 12. We were granted €`100 at the beginning of the year for refreshments but we were wondering if it might be possible to also get funding for the €80 fee charged for renting the Nu Bar after 10pm. Total funding sought: €180 (Additional funding sought: €80) Also, we recently received an invoice from Music Scope Ltd, a London Based musical-theatre rights licensing company. The bill is for £1065 sterling and relates to the DCU Drama production of 'Sweet Charity' two years ago. The company had tried on several occasions to contact the show's producers, Elaine Bannon and Claire O' Neill to retreive scores and scripts that had never been sent back, but neither of these individuals did anything to resolve the matter. As a result, the bulk of the cost is for over-due scripts and scores that were sent back by the current committee shortly after they were elected this time last year. We think it's unfair that we are being made foot the bill for other people's mistakes and, as such, would appreciate any assistance, financial or otherwise, that the SPC could offer. Kind regards, Joey Kavanagh DCU Drama Treasurer (but not for long...) -- msn: joeykavanagh@gmail.com ph: 085 7322 505 -- msn: joeykavanagh@gmail.com ph: 085 7322 505
