here ye go, sorry bout the delay, stupid computer ate them on me yesterday!! hope they're understandable...silly me kinda lost track at the meeting for unknown reasons!
I know I wasn't at the meeting but: In reference to the St Pat's drama festival, has anyone seen their venue? We might as well take a look first. Does anyone know if it's an actual theatre? If it is I doubt they'd be up for moving the whole thing out to a venue which isn't practically geared towards theatre performance. Plus, if we use their venue now the liklihood is that we'll be able to use it again in the future when our venue doesn't suit or is booked out. On the other hand it might be nice to host an event of this size. I'll take a trip out there first i think before I offer the HUB, if that's ok. Daniel. PS. if you've given up on me and called them about it already I'll understand.

hey I was talking to martin french about the st pats thing and as daniel said he wasnt too up for moving. basically its an internal competition from mon-thurs in st pats and then we get involved over the weekend. we could also have our own internal one act show competition and send our winners up. thats what i gathered from the conversation although it wasnt clear. our winners if we like could then poss tour with amateur one act show competitions around the country as we should get funding for that. martin said he could supply us with a contact for that if we are interested. he's coming up to our meeting on monday with some other members who are interested in putting on a performance of Pride and Prejudice in December which sounds very interesting. with regards to their theatre it is a 600 seater auditorium and as i gather much more suited to drama productions rather than concerts like our venue. however for future reference, although their theatre is a great venue for plays, it wouldnt draw the crowd that dcu has as its in st. pats. something to think about for future productions. ill talk to daniel in more detail about our conversation. so all should attend on monday as we have guests!! pat rafter. theatre?
