[Drama-Committee] Announce Drama email / other shtuff...
Hey guys, At the bottom of this email you'll find the announce drama email to be sent out by Steve (feel free to add stuff that I've forgotten to it...). There's other stuff, mind, so read on! And get some tea. Susan! Two sugars. Roysh, first off I have an absolute ASSLOAD of stuff belonging to Drama in my apartment, all of which will have to go into the equipment room for the summer. I will also be putting some personal stuff in there (stuff I have no use for in Clare for the Summer) - it'll be marked in boxes, so that no-one moves/nicks it. DAVE you have my key to the equipment room - are you around next weekend to give it back to me? The catch: I'm off home to Clare (again) today in about an hour. I'll be back up on Friday night, and we have to move this stuff on Saturday. ALAN/EOGHAN: please contact security & buildings and explain that we need access to the HUB on Saturday 27th for about two hours in order to access the SPC equipment room. Try not to accept no for an answer - we need to move this shit outta my apartment (and there's a lot, including karaoke machine, hoodies, other random stuff). I also need volunteers to help move this stuff - I ain't superman and there's a bloody lot of it. Also in my gaff: the cashbox (with 170 bucks and the drama stamp in it) - JOEY/SHANE are you around next weekend to take it? Karaoke CDs: SHELLY: are you around next weekend or during the week to give them possibly to EOIN? Talk to each other and see what happens. Martin French's Lectern & masks etc: I still have the key to the Glass room, where the lectern still resides. ALAN & JOHN: can you guys rustle up a sander of some description so that we can sand the bugger down and finally give it back to Martin? By next weekend? The masks are in my gaff. Stuff that CS2 nicked: We borrowed a load of stuff for our TV shoot that we then sillily left in the TV studio. EOIN: can you look into getting it outta there and at least temporarily back to our gaff to be put in the equipment room at the weekend? Apologies that I won't be around this week to do any of this stuff (but feel sorry for / laugh at me, for I shall be making sandwiches in Clare). We need to get ALL of this done by next weekend before we all disappear for the summer. Sorry and everything, but it needs to be done. Guys, it's been a fucking fantastic year, and a pleasure and an honour to be a part of it with all of you. Bring on 2006/07! Bob XXX PS: STEVE: throw something about the 20th Anniversary of DCU Drama into the mail! Ahoy Campers! Just a few bits to keep you going over the summer... I hope the exams are going/went well for everybody. We here at DCU Drama certainly hope so, so that you'll all be back again next year! I'd also like to say thanks a million once more - our great successes this year are down to you, our members. Go Drama! Now read on... Video Snippets: Bob has been busy avoiding study, and has put up two short videos on the 'net for your general enjoyment! There's our review of the year. as seen at the DADAs, and a heart-wrenching rendition of "I Want It That Way" by the now-defunct BackWoods Boys. There are several ways to view these... 1) For the review of the year, go to http://www.dcudrama.ie/broadvid/ OR 2) Go to www.youtube.com and enter "dcu drama" in the search bar to find both videos! OR 3) Save yourself the hassle and go straight to www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~dramaboband watch all of our videos to your heart's content! There will be more snippets videos going up as Bob gets off his ass and puts them together, so keep an eye out! (especially on the redbrick site...) Producers & Directors! We need volunteers to assist in fundraising for Drama events next year! More will be announced when fundraising events have been arranged- but if you're willing to help, please reply to chair@dcudrama.ie Movie Madness! SIX SEMESTERS is DCU's first ever feature length movie - indeed the first feature ever (to our knowledge) to be attempted by any society in an Irish university. It's a comedy about a young man who's in the business of breaking up couples and destroying romance. For money. The story involves this young man, a student at DCU, falling in love. Set pretty much exclusively around campus, the film's story takes place over the space of three years (hence the title.) The approximate production schedule for next year is auditions and rehearsals in the first semester and shooting and editing in the second semester. It might be an idea to become aware of a few of the following movies if you want to get involved (acting or otherwise) in the movie.
