[Drama-Committee] Back in three weeks...
Hey Guys, Okay, we're back in three weeks and there's alot of stuff that we should try to get organized before we get back. I was flicking through the minutes of the last meeting (the handover) and I'm just suggesting a few things they might be best done now (or over the next few weeks) so that people will have less pressure come start of college. I'm not telling people to do this, and I'm not trying to get anyone's backs up- I'm trying to get people slowly back into their positions after the long break. The next bit is just individual stuff... after that again is committee group stuff to ponder... ****************************************************************************************** Eoin: Maybe see what the deal is with hoodies/ t-shirts & other merchandise. Susan is already in contact with 'potential' (AIB DCU) main sponsors and we promise our main sponsors that we will have their logo on our t-shirts etc. Maybe you could figure out costs & whatnot so we can propose a budget set aside for merchandise. Also, we should approach Bui Bolg over the next few weeks to see if they can do Clubs & Socs Day. John: I think we should go ahead with a proper committee meeting in Gorey on 8th. Could you get the topics to be discussed and make up an agenda. Joey: Can you e-mail me all the funding-claim-forms-thingy (grant apps! that's the word!) that you got from Shane? All of them please. Thanks. Liana: Did you get that 'Fresher's Leaflet' off Joe Murray? If not I can send you it- just let me know. Elo: I approached Susan Bourke, Marko & Ashley and informed them that this position MAY be available for re-election next year. I approached them because they are the ones who ran for the position. I also suggest that no-one on committee take this role in conjunction with there existing role as it may be too much pressure. But that's just my two cents. Alan: At some point an inventory of the equipment will need to be made up. Also, you and me need to contact Una Redmond about the possibility of increased storage. Probably contact Shay as well. Also, do we have the karaoke machine and cd's as we will need these in orientation week. Suz: The portfolio looks great. Possibly send them a link to the dcu Drama Video that Bob made. Lyndsey: I know you're away and whatnot. But maybe you could start to plan workshops and stuff. What type of workshops etc... Also, Jenni approached me and said she is more than willing to run a 'set design' workshop next year. It would also be a great way to rope in people to help make the set before a show! Conor: On the Navigation Link 'Join DCU Drama' it needs to be updated. Its two years old! =) ************************************************************************************************* WEBSITE While on the website- the 'Production Guide' in the Navigation leads to two links about producing (by Elaine Bannon) How about we make this the place for all things that we work on in the workshops. i.e. a 'Tips on designing a set' or 'How to pick a director' etc etc... Does anyone else have any suggestions for the website? THEATRE TRIPS Anyway- reading through the agenda we decided that we have TWO theatre trips a semester. I propose that we do the following... 1.) Theatre trip to West End to see Wicked (provided it doesn't affect our New York trip) 2.) Theatre trip in Week 12 to see Panto. "Mother Goose" is on in the Gaiety. in Semster Two in propose... 1.) Broadway (duh?!) 2.) Theatre trip organized by FYR. What do people think? CONSTITUTION Could we get a write up of the changes so that we can propose them in next years constitution? Also, can we post the Constitution on the website? IAGO SCRIPT Read Ashling's comedy script (in full). It is absolutly fucking brilliant. I would like her contact number if anyone has it? BAGPACK Bagpack in gorey- BE THERE. Also committee meeting! AND FINALLY... You're probably wondering why I went to all this hassle... honestly... I'm bored... secondly, with all the money we're raising I KNOW it's gonna be a fan-fucking-tastic year and I don't want people to get worn out early so lets get the small tasks outta the way now. Also, I love you... And I love lamp... But mainly lamp... Steve out P.S. Joey needs Eoin's & John's signature so try to make sure you're in Gorey. P.P.S. We raised €2385.72 in Ashbourne. Combined with €1980.01 in Jervis makes €4,365.73!!! Wowza! -- Stephen Grimes Applied Physics DCU Drama Chair 085 7079768 55456550
Hey Guys, Just a suggestion for the website - the production guide can eventually be replaced by the handbook that Joey's working on! Theres no rush on this - he lost alot of work when his laptop disappeared - but thats prob what should go there! (Joey..if u need a hand with anything to do with this - give me a shout!!) I'll be in Dublin tomorrow (wed) n' Im meeting with Redz, if anyone is around please let me know!! xoxo Suz GOREY GOREY GOREY SEPT 8th AND 9th!
