[Drama-Committee] Announce Drama & Meeting Agenda
ISDA Over Paddy's weekend, twenty-one intrepid drama heads headed up to Belfast to participate in the annual Irish Student Drama Association festival. Three Days of Rain was performed on Friday night, and Iago was performed on Saturday evening, and both shows were absolutely fantastic! The shows were recognised at the awards ceremony on Saturday night with a nomination each: Three Days of Rain was nominated for Best Costume and Make-Up, and Brendan O'Rourke was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Roderigo in Iago. Well done to everyone involved, ye put on great performances! Thanks so much to all those who came up to support the participants as well! The weekend was enjoyed by all, despite the rather dodgy hostel! Once again, congratulations to everybody, huge thanks to Susan Bourke (our epic ELO) who was an absolute legend in ensuring everything went according to plan and for organizing practically every aspect of the trip! Special Thanks to Joey Kavanagh, Bob O'Mhurchu and Conor Lynch's dad who all helped out massively as well! (apologies if I forgot someone!!!) Fingers crossed for as good a showing from DCU Drama at next year's festival! Variety Show That's right, DCU Drama are holding a variety show this semester! To be held on Thursday of Week 11, April 19th, the show promises to be another fantastic event - from musical numbers and comedy sketches to dance routines and serious drama, we want it all! This is a great way to get involved in the society if you haven't been able to commit to larger productions due to time restraints - it's all up to yourself to rehearse your act! So, wanna get up on that stage and show off your talents? Then come to auditions in Week 8 and strut your stuff! Acts do not need to be perfect by audition time; we just need an indication of what the final product will be! Venue tbc, more details next week! KING LEAR (Lyndsey Fay is sending me a blurb later) Stuff for agenda... ISDA Review Variety Show A.O.B. Thats it guys- send me additional stuff asap!!! ALSO- WHEN are we having the meeting!?!?! I take it most people are home Monday- (I've made plans! Sorry!)- but if people still want to have a meeting Monday night then fire away! Just email now and see if we can pick a time/place etc! Laters! -- Stephen Grimes AP2 Rep DCU Drama Chair 085 7079768 55456550
Well, I'm free Monday night from about 8pm on (after Lear rehearsals), but if we decide to have the meeting Tuesday night instead I won't be able to make it 'cause I'll be onstage...What about sometime during the day on Tuesday? We can try and fit it in around the science students' lectures 'cause the rest of us have reading week and should have more free time...I'm free all day until about six-ish anyway...:-) On 3/18/07, Stephen Grimes <stephen.grimes5@gmail.com> wrote:
