just talking to al there, he says that it should be fine as long as spc dont find out about it which they won't! They didnt insure the kid in the full monty so as long as we don't talk about it much shouldnt be a problem! Also the ger thing is fine, its a drama issue not an spc issue!

Well it was my sister who said to me that the idea of part-funding the chairs ticket was something to consider and since both she and alan are both on SPC the chances of it being a problem are pretty slim i would of thought. I'll check with her again though and see what she says. One thing tho was that I didn't think we were broadcasting that around were we?

Hey guys,
This is sort of serious. I'm after being asked a couple of questions by one of the older drama heads. I don't know if some or all of you are aware of the following but I thought I should let people know anyway after what happened with the panto incident.
Apparently, an ex-chair of the SPC found out that we were paying for half of Ger's Broadway ticket and was considering reporting this to the SPC claiming we would be audited if they found out...but they were convinced not to.
Also, having a non SU student who is uninsured being in one of our productions and in the Helix could cause problems.
Did anyone hear of this before?I literlly just heard there..
I don't know if this is grounds to punish/audit us. Did you guys??
This needs to be discussed ASAP to avoid further hiccups.

Hey, There can't be any problem with Ger going for half price. Surely we don't have to be answerable to the SPC for the way we distribute all our money?.. Whoever this person is, I wonder does it know that other society committees are a lot more generous to themselves.. for example, AF Soc organise a four night away trip to Europe (Tthis year Berlin) where members pay only e100 for the whole thing. As well as that, their whole committee are funded by their society finances so none of them pay a cent. So if this person wants to make itself important.. tell it to go blow up. With the "Non-Student" Issue, Bob researched every relative constitution he could find and nowhere did it say that we weren't allowed to have a non-student. But still and all, as insurance issues would no doubt spark controversy, mouths zipped is the best Idea.
First of all thanks Sinead for letting us know about this, you have most likely saved us a head ache later in the year, which is appreciated But secondly and most importantly, why did this get out? everyone attended the meeting in which the decision for my price deduction was made and, as Conor mentioned, it was made quite clear that we were not going to make it public knowledge. So how did this "former SPC chair" find out? When decisions are made at committee level, they stay at committee level. If the information is to be made public knowledge I will do it in the weekly email, simple as. So as Sinead said just shut up and we will be fine This is not the first time this has happened, please learn a lesson and make it the last.
