[Drama-Committee] Minutes+ Broadway stuff
This weeks minutes. Take a look at the NY Stuff especially and let me know if I left anything out. Drama Committee meeting 13th January 2009. Absent: Ed, Blaithin, Conor DCU/DIT Drama Exchange: -Pauric was talking to DIT Drama. Theyre holding a festival 2 weeks before ISDA and thought it would be a good idea if we sent Pillowman to it. They were offered and exchange too but havent suggested anything yet. -This would be a good opportunity to get an outside audience to watch and it would also be good practice before ISDAs. ISDA: - The deadline to send in entries is the 16th of January so we need to get the application for Pillowman in asap. The system is changed from a 2 tiered to a 3 tiered system categorised as follows: Colleges with over 1000 members is T1, Colleges with between 50 and 1000 members is T2, and Colleges with under 50 members is T3. - We need to try and get photos of the venues as we missed the open day. -We also need to look into hiring a transport company to get the set etc to Limerick. Weekly Drama: -Pauric proposed having a weekly drama night for those who want to be involved as so much of this semester is given over to RENT. -It was suggested by Ger to run it like a theatre workshop and give people monologues or scenes to prepare each week culminating in a showcase at the end of the year. -Other suggestions were creative writing workshops, tech, etc. Everyone should think about suggestions. The Sound of Disney: -Pauric wants to change The Sound of Musicals to The Sound of Disney. This would broaden the appeal of the showcase. Everything else remains the same. Pillowman: - Pauric wants to sort out a budget asap for the show. He needs to speak to Conor about it. Broadway: -GER in the next email please remind people about travel insurance.
