[Drama-Committee] Possible Play for next year
Okies, The idea was put to me a few days ago. There's somone interested in putting on the irish play "An Trial" next year and asked me would it be possible and if so would i co produce and co direct. The deal with this play is there are 3 main characters in it...Therefore only needing three irish speakers for the part. Fluency in it is not neccessary but would help. Also this is the main play studied for the leaving cert every year therefore giving an outside DCU audience. We'd only be interested in putting the show on for 2 maybe three nights but we think it could be a money maker if the schools could be ropped in. I think if it was to go ahead...First semester would be preferable to try and entice schools Just a thought...Lemme know what you's think Shelly -- Gamessoc Treasurer 2006/07 Frgf2
hasnt the course changed...i no my year was the last year of our course dealy and my mates aare doing different irish pros and that.. other than that ive no problem exept for the fact that its really only open to the irish spaekers in dcu ...which is limited

Thanks for the support Joey :) Yep the course has changed but to my knowledge "An Trial" is still on it but its something i shall look into. An trial isn't one of the pros..It comes up in the Dirbheathasinéis section( apologies but i can't remember what that is in english :/) and its a choice between it and "A Thig ná tit orm". It could be summit good to get in conjunction with an Cumann Gaelach for....although let me suss out what the committee for them will be like next year( Could be a bunch of wankers like the year before last). Joey was saying maybe during Seachtain na Gaeilge which could be a good idea but i jus think it could be a lil bit too late..Some schools might be against going to see plays when its not that far to the leaving cert Shelly On 5/15/06, Alan Keegan <alankeegan5@gmail.com> wrote:

Let's not loose sight of the real issue here: That Irish is a silly, silly language for people from Meath. Nah seriously, I think it's a runner, I think Irish week may be good. I know it's late, but it's a good refresher before the exams. Besides, how many other places will have Irish plays running?! Michelle Ni Fhaircheallaigh wrote:

I know before my sister did her leaving cert it was on in the abbey but it hasn't been on there since so thats all summit i have to check out aswell. Also if people went to their own old schools it would amount to a lot of people going. I jus think it could be a real money earner with little to no costs involved On 5/15/06, David Grimes <david.grimes2@mail.dcu.ie> wrote:
