Right, Here is the official deal with the Broadway trip. I WILL give some consideration to committee members who wanna pay up front AND I have already spoken to several "old school" Drama members, basically telling them to be at the EGM on Monday night, with €150 in their hands. We CANNOT just give spots away on this trip - I am absolutely determined to make this trip available to ALL members of Drama, including those Freshers who are so interested right now. Here's the deal: The first 30 people up to me on the night of the EGM (after I make the announcement) with €150 in their grubby little hands get to go to New York. Having looked at that last sentence, that's not quite right,as it won't be the first 30. I'm sure that most of the committee are interested in going, so perhaps we need to work on the exact language we use... Something along the lines of "If you've got €150, come on up and sign up for the trip, if you don't then we DO have to offer places on the trip on a first-come-first-served basis," and as soon as the roster is full then tough shit on everyone else. It's the fairest way, as even the old school drama heads will have had plenty of advance notice. If they choose to ignore that then that's their tough noogie. Yayness! In the interests of fairness, we cannot pre-allocate spots on this trip, with the possible exception of myself (not trying to sound big-headed), as I am organising the whole damn thing. The "announce-drama" email on Monday will have most of the non-sensitive details included... The €150 will be NON-REFUNDABLE. No Exceptions. If, however, you find that having paid the €150 and can't go, there will be people lining up to take your place, just ask them for €150 and we're all square.
