Hi Guys, Quick update on our Musical situation! Liana, Alan and I met with Mr. Jamie Conway (worked with Blackrock college, producer of the City Channel here in town) last night for coffee and stuff. He's a very nice guy - young in his late 20's and very professional. He's very keen on doing the Hot Mikado and totally probed Alan and I about our ideas on costumes, makeup, lighting, sound and the Helix in general. Thank god We've been doing our homework lol Anyway - he's totally in and down for the job! We discussed money and I told him we paid 3,000 euro for a director last year and he said "yep ok we're in the same zone then" he also said that what he does with us isn't work for him - its fun - and he's not looking to make a living out of it! haha Joey likes him already eh? lol So - in short - we have ourselves a new director. Rang Olga this morning - she needs to check her schedule for next year - she mentioned doing something with Maynooth...so hopefully she's free. Then its onto finding a choreographer - Liana and I have a few ideas there- but if anyone has any suggestions....pipe up n' let us know! Also - Jamie mentioned taking on an Assistant Director (we mentioned our Shadowing programme) and I thought maybe Steve, Eoin or anyone with previous experience would be up for that job! It could save Drama hiring a professional next year? or just give someone the chance to direct with a professional, in a highly professional venue. We can discuss it on Monday night!!
