[Drama-Committee] Musical and One Act
Hey Just a couple of things...................... *One Act Wonder Festival: *Traditionally St. Pats hold the one act wonder festival in their grounds the week following our own festival, sadly they did not have the facilitates to do it this year. Rather than let it die, DCU have offered to host it and as winner of best overall production we would love to send your act;"Mourning Calls". This competition will be taking place Wednesday, 28 November,at 8 o'clock.Ifyou can get back to us as soon as possible, that would be perfect. *Student Director: *We had two people apply for the position of student, sadly one of them John Cannon has decided that he would prefer to be involved in the actual performance. This leaves Stephen Grimes, who is a fantastically talented director with a vast amount of experience. If you could get in contact with him as soon as possible that would be fantastic. His email is stephen.grimes5@gmail.com *Student Choreographer: *This issue came up at our last drama committee meeting,we feel that the role of choreographer is a decision the director of the show has to have an input in. In such a dance based production,if the director doesn't communicate well with his choreographer or they have different artistic idea's,it won't work. Also in such an important role, possible the most important role,we feel that an auditioning process would have to happen with the director and you choosing the choreographer. Hope to hear from you soon. Pauric Carroll DCU Drama Chair -- www.dcudrama.ie
