[Drama-Committee] Bits 'n' pieces
Hey guys, First off, can all committee members try and give me even a vague idea of their availability for the next bag-pack so I can try and figure out who'll be around what days. I already know Lyndsey and Eoin won't be around so you guys are excused. I've got Shane to post me the stuff I need for Josef Weinberger and he's just e-mailed me pretty much every drama-related document in his possession (grant aps, budgets, the constitution, etc) which should prove pretty invaluable. I might forward it on to you guys if I get on a better internet connection at some stage. I'd also suggest that maybe Liana get in touch with Joe Murray, if you haven't already, (and possible even Gary Boylan) to see if they have anything of worth lying around on their hard-drives. I thought our open-air meeting went pretty well on Sunday (in spite of the skangers trying to hi-jack Steve's laptop to 'check their bebo'). There's a few things that I meant to say at the meeting but completely forgot: 1. I'd really like to have a Masquerade Ball at some stage next year so maybe we could pencil it in at some stage (week 5 or 6 of semester one?). Kat Farrell said that Rebrick were considering doing something along those lines as well (and Charlie, Jesjes, Kat and Big Padraig are all on Redbrick committee next year) so perhaps we could team up with them. I also think that this is an event that we could possibly do in conjunction with The Union (and have a decent chance of getting a Bar-extension). Thoughts? 2. Last year ,a good few naive freshers signed up to Drama purely because our card provided free access to Spirit nightclub on Thursday. I dealt with Aoife from Spirit last year, who was very obliging but insisted that Spirit be the only nightclub logo on our cards. I've a feeling that we could potentially get big sponsorship deals from Redz or other nightclubs this year so maybe this wouldn't be such a good idea. I also remember that Redbrick had cards. seperate to their membership cards, that covered a whole load of nightclubs (I think they were Bank of Ireland cards or something) so maybe we could look into that? I'll get in touch with Jesjes about it. 3. Actual membership cards. Last year we spent a couple of hours up in a meeting room in Clubs and Socs, assembling and laminating membership cards. They were nowhere near as slick as the ones we had the year before but a hell of a lot cheaper. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on what we should do this year? Ok, that's me done. Wow, that's an e-mail of almost Bob-like proportions! Hope ye're all well and anybody sitting exams is getting on alright, Joey -- msn: jaykavana@hotmail.com ph: 085 7322 505
