DCU DRAMA COMMITTEE MEETING Agenda; Monday 16th February, 2008 ? Ratification of last meetings minutes ? Any matter arising ? Pillowman + ISDA ? Lighting Desk ? Bank Balance ? Clubs and Socs day 2 ? RAG week ? AOB Absent: Adam and Ciara Pillowman + ISDA: - The Helix was really helpful about it. The 600 euro is going into the Rent account. - The show is not allowed to be put on anywhere in Ireland; this rules out ISDA. - Suggestions were made for the show to be put on for friends and family but the repercussions would be terrible if this got out. - So far Joeys play ?Bash? looks to be the only runner. Another option is putting a one woman show together with Holly?s material. PAURIC will get onto her and hopefully we will have a decision next week. Lighting Desk: - We found the mouse and it costs 50 euro. It was decided that we should go ahead and swap the desk with Jay as putting it off further may result in hard feelings. DEC and ADAM will sort this out. - The current desk is obsolete and if it breaks we have no leg to stand on. Bank Balance: -Currently the balance is 1654.69 but after claims etc we should have 6700. Clubs and Socs day 2: - Weds 18th 10-4. DEC and ED will set up at 10. Others will be there later on to relieve them. CIAN will make a big Rent poster and they will have the other big poster too. RAG week: - Drown Drama will be done after Strictly... on Tuesday. Need to organise sponges and buckets etc. AOB: - Now that Pillowman is out, Pauric will be doing workshops weekly. There will be three this week. There will be a lighting workshop and Dec suggested having a talk about directing and producing too. There was a suggestion of doing Improv Comedy and play in a day. - EVERYONE needs to encourage people to go to these workshops and attend themselves. - Conor cleared up the SPC points system. This doesn?t determine the funding we get, it?s just a rewards system that gives points to societies for the events they have. SINEAD will get in contact with Eimear and keep her up to date on the events. - We need to make sure that before any work goes into a play, the director needs to have the rights. We should also draw up contracts for shows. RENT meeting with John: - We need a vocal coach. Andrew and Trudy haven?t the time. John knew a guy (Kevin) and called him, he attended rehearsals that night. We agreed to cap the payment at 1500. 500 could be fundraised and 250 off Andrews?s payment should ease the expenses. That?s for 9 hours a week for 5 weeks. - We need to do fundraising. Try every company you can, think outside the box?
