Re: [Drama-Committee] [Drama] WEEK 8 - Play in a Day, Loafs, Hoodies etc
Hey Conor, I'm looking after events in the Hub this week while Shea's out, can I confirm that you don't need the venue tomorrow night? and do you want the seats put out for the loafs on Tuesday? Cheers Eoghan On Sun, Nov 15, 2009 at 11:55 PM, DCU Drama <dcudrama@gmail.com> wrote:
Hey everyone,
Its week 8 and you all should be nice and rested after all that reading last week :) and we've got plenty in store for you. Our events are all starting to really kick off now with Panto and Stars well on there way with auditions. This week we have a few things to keep you interested while you wait for those. The hightlight of the week is of course the Loafs, our annual lovely one act festival. On monday we'll be running the play in a day workshop where you'll get the chance to put a play together in one day ready for the loafs the next day. Anyway heres the list of whats coming up.
*Play in a Day: Monday 6pm meet at the interfaith* (we'll find a nice room to go to from here but this is where you'll be meeting up). You're best chance to star in a show with the least amount of time put it on your part so great for all those busy with other events or focused on college work. We'll be running a workshop for about an hour and then letting you loose for the afternoon and evening to put it all together. On the tuesday then we'll be checkin up to make sure its all going well and then you'll get your chance to step on the stage and perform at the loafs. This is also great for all you improv fans too! * Loafs: Tuesday 8pm in the Venue Tickets €3 at the door*: We'll be showing two one act plays, a number of great monologues and the play in a day. Sure to be a fantastic night of entertainment and fun. *NOT TO BE MISSED!
* *Ballet for Beginners Workshop: Tuesday 7pm, Old Bar.* As well as loafs we also have a great Ballet for beginners workshop. Its on before loafs so you'll all be able to head on over to the venue afterwards. Dance and drama have teamed up again to bring you a workshop in beginners ballet this Tuesday in the Old Bar at 7pm. The workshop will cover basic ballet steps, compounds, stretches and posture. This will give participants a grounding in the dance form and all other styles of dance and will assist those interested in pursuing musical theatre. It's free and all are welcome so pop along!
*Broadway money collection: On Tuesday at 11am and Wednesday at 2pm in clubs and socs* we'll be collecting your final payments for broadway trip. Its €350 euro and then you'll be 100% going on the trip :) :) Anyone who is unable to make both these times or has any other questions/problems please email jennifer tweed at jennifer.tweed2@mail.dcu.ie
